Finally a Batman with the same head shape, if not face shape, as me, that’s why

@blackandyellow - unfortunately that’s the other end of the spectrum, size wise, but you’re get closer with the face

@blackandyellow - almost. But much worse. I look like a black version of this guy arguing with George

Don't really agree with #6 on here, but the rest I agree with. In particular, I think #5 (striking fear into the criminals) and #2 (world's greatest detective) are the strongest characteristics of The Batman's iteration.

Its too soon to say whether Pattinson's take is better than Bale's, but they are both great takes on the character, differing in various aspects that provide different strengths to each portrayal. I will say though, The Batman was a far superior and stronger first film than Batman Begins.
HeavyMetal4Life - 3/23/2022, 4:14 PM
Also, and I'm sure I'll get a number of replies with this comment, Pattinson's Batman plainly and clearly shows just how "off" (to put it nicely) the depiction of the character has been in the DCEU. Its almost like a night and day difference to me with Pattinson's version and Affleck's version. Besides differences noted up above in the article (such as being against killing), Pattinson's Batman truly looks and feels like the character to me. Affleck's visualization comes off as bloated, dull, confused and struggling, uncertain at times, etc. Maybe its the fault of the suit that Affleck has been wearing, but it just does not look good at all.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Agreed 100%
LenSkivorskiJr - 3/23/2022, 7:48 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - Affleck’s BvS and Suicide Squad suits were nearly flawless. I can hardly bear to look at Pattinson’s for long, the only shot it looked good to me was this one from the trailer.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Affleck was best when being Bruce. Wasn't great as Batman
DetectiveSnosbot - 3/24/2022, 3:36 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - I am with ya on that. While I dug Batfleck the most out of the majority of DCEU, many things ruined him being the best Bats.

Bats in The Batman looks and feels like a real person to me, as in a believable entity without as much suspension of disbelief. Hope that makes sense. I would have never believed "emo Batman" would become my favorite one, but it happened. 2 viewings in (both Dolby) & I am hyped for the future of a DC film univers for the first time. I mean that damn Batmobile scene made me go out and buy the Spin Master 4" figure & Batmobile toy! It is awesome!
HeavyMetal4Life - 3/24/2022, 4:34 PM
@DetectiveSnosbot - totally makes sense to me! Glad you agree.
ElricReturns - 3/23/2022, 4:15 PM
I always thought a cool self contained else world Batman story would see him dress up as Batman to take down the craziest of Gotham in a few months (I always found it unbelievable a vigilante with no powers would have a long career) then after they are locked up, Bruce Wayne turns himself in for his criminal vigilante ways and becomes an inmate at Arkham himself to end his story.

I thought it would be fascinating if Bruce had to embrace his insanity to stop these bad guys knowing he would have to pay the cost at the end.
PoolParty - 3/23/2022, 5:26 PM
@ElricReturns - thank god you’re not a Batman writer ffs
Origame - 3/23/2022, 5:34 PM
@PoolParty - ...his idea was an elseworlds tale.
ElricReturns - 3/23/2022, 7:49 PM
@Origame - I have to admit, without the further context of tone, this idea is very odd to standard Batman lore. Hence why I thought of it as a self contained elseworld. I don't blame him for not liking the idea.

🤷🏾‍♂️
Origame - 3/23/2022, 8:23 PM
@ElricReturns - I get that, but it comes across like he just thought the intention was a standard story.

I think the idea would be great for an elseworlds story. Same with the white knight story where joker got cured and fought batman on the political field.

Maybe you can push the insanity angle, like keep his no kill rule but have him do things like scar two face and dropping joker in the chemicals on purpose.
PoolParty - 3/26/2022, 3:13 AM
@Origame - it was a horrible tale.
Origame - 3/26/2022, 8:14 AM
@PoolParty - well what's so bad about it, considering it is an elseworlds tale (meaning effectively different characters).
PoolParty - 3/26/2022, 6:21 PM
@Origame - else worlds because he made up his own trash story? It’s dumb.
Origame - 3/26/2022, 9:14 PM
@PoolParty - such constructive criticism you have right there.
PoolParty - 3/31/2022, 11:27 PM
@Origame - cry about it then
Origame - 4/1/2022, 4:24 AM
@PoolParty - dude you're the only one crying right now, wtf?
PoolParty - 4/2/2022, 4:22 AM
@Origame - seems to me like you’re the one crying.
