The Batman puts a fresh spin on the World's Greatest Detective, and the movie marked the first time we've really seen the hero "suit up" out in the world. During the movie's memorable opening, we even see Bruce Wayne apply his warpaint on the subway before donning the cape and cowl to take out some of Gotham City's thugs.
Reflecting on her work on the movie, Hairstylist Zoe Tahir has shared behind-the-scenes photos from The Batman showing the work that went into finding the right look for Robert Pattinson's vigilante.
However, she also admits to being a tad frustrated after Warner Bros. made the decision to include test footage in the trailer shown during August 2020's DC FanDome event (which also just goes to show how little from Matt Reeves' DC Comics adaptation they had to present at the time).
"This day was supposed to be a test but the footage was actually released in the first teaser trailer in August 2020," Tahir recalls. "It's frustrating as an artist and perfectionist to not have control over things like that, when perhaps you feel you've not nailed a look, but these are actually some of my favourite images and over the years I've learned to relax about things like this."
"If the director and producers are happy, then they're happy," she continues in the Instagram post below. "Every day even when filming I'm always looking at my work and thinking there are ways to improve or do something better, that doesn't stop once the tests are over."
This unique look for Pattinson's Bruce Wayne/Batman worked really well on screen, and it's something we definitely hope continues to be used as this franchise expands and develops.
The Batman is now playing in theaters.
