Michael Giacchino has quickly become one of Hollywood's best and most prolific composers. This has resulted in him jumping between the Marvel and DC Universes, and hot off Spider-Man: No Way Home, Giacchino is set to deliver what sounds like his best work yet in The Batman.
We've already heard the themes for Batman and The Riddler, but they've now been followed by a very elegant piece of music for Zoë Kravitz/Catwoman. It's another great piece of work, and may even offer some hints about what to expect from this take on the Gotham City femme fatale.
During a recent interview with EW, Kravitz explained why this was the first superhero role she considered after starring in X-Men: First Class. "I really think that Catwoman would have been the only [superhero] that I would ever consider, just because I feel really connected to her emotionally and also aesthetically. I think there's an authenticity and an edge to her that I'm drawn to."
The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham City.
Joining Robert Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.
The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.
