THE BATMAN: Possible Suit Details Could Indicate An Interesting New Look for the Dark Knight

Happy new year! A new rumor has come out that contradicts previous reports that Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight will don a blue and grey costume in Matt Reeves' The Batman. Find out more after the jump...

A while ago, it was reported that the suit Robert Pattinson would be wearing in 2021's The Batman would be similar to the iconic Jim Lee blue and grey get-up. Now, former Variety writer Kris Tapley put out a since-deleted tweet which claims that the suit that we'll be seeing will be very different to what we were anticipating.

The costume is now said to be taking insipiration from comic book artist Lee Bermejo's design for the Dark Knight; a look that many comic book fans would be eager to see.

The original design consisted of a cargo look - a very heavy-duty and more rugged style for a tactical kind of Caped Crusader. This design, while not as widely recognized as that of Frank Miller and Jim Lee, has been a favorite of many fans for years.

It's important to note that grains of salt should be applied here, as this info could turn out to be false. We're hopefully not that far away from a first official look at the movie's suit, so we can find out for ourselves.

They said the exact same thing about Batfleck's suit before it was revealed.

Don't take these things literally.

BVS Batfleck suit best live action bat suit ever and I am a huge fan of the Nolan films. Not the armored one although that was a cool take on The Dark Knight Returns battle armor.

The reason why Bruce dresses up as a bat is to strike fear into the heart of criminals. I sometimes feel that costume designers either forget that or don’t even consider it. I also think that a lot of comic artists forget this. At the very core the Batsuit should make the wearer look formidable and intimidating which I think is the one thing that Zack Snyder got right with his take on Batman. His and Ben’s Batman was the first live action version that you didn’t want to mess with.

At the very least I hope this new suit doesn’t make Robert look ridiculous in it.

@bcom - i understand the desire to make it more sleek and tactical for grounding purposes but i just dont agree with the visual part of it ... i really disliked what nolans suits evolved to by the end of the trilogy.

@Victorg1983 - I agree. The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises suit is my least favourite Batsuit by a long shot. It was just too busy and made him look more like Robobats than Batman.

I think that’s why I like Ben’s Batsuit the most, it was more simplistic and comic book looking and it just looked mean as hell. Having said that, I don’t like the changes they made to it in Justice League.

I'll wait and see, but this is definitely one of my least-favorite designs from the comics.
