THE BATMAN: The Dark Knight Battles The GCPD In Action-Packed New Clip From The Movie

A new clip for The Batman was shown during last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and it features an intense exchange between Batman and Jim Gordon before the Caped Crusader goes on the run...

Robert Pattinson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday evening, and the actor brought a new clip from The Batman with him! Starting at the 7:31 mark in the video below, it begins with a tense conversation between Jim Gordon and the World's Greatest Detective as the latter explains to his ally that one of the cops in the department is corrupt and working at the Iceberg Lounge.

From there, Batman punches Jim in the face - to cover his escape, most likely - and goes on the run as the GCPD chases him down. We're guessing this scene culminates with the Caped Crusader diving off the roof of the building for the impressive gliding sequence featured in the trailers.

While brief, this sneak peek does offer a better idea of what to expect from the movie, and it feels like director Matt Reeves has definitely nailed the unique dynamic between Batman and Gordon.

The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham City.

Joining Robert Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.

Love how Pattinson has the physicality of a wild animal when he's running through GCPD, just absolutely feral

@dracula - he ran when he was jumping from a GCPD rooftop in BB, and there was a scene in TDK promo material where Batman jumps on top of cop cars, but it wasn't included in the movie.

@dracula - I don't remember if he was running exaclty, but Batfleck's WAS moving around quite a bit in his iterations. R Batts seems clunky. He needs a better suit.

@tylerzero - I think it's more like @dracula said, I guess we haven't seen bats running in this kind of open shot since ths Schumacher films.

Well if matt reeves feels like using Man Bat, Pattinson did the research for how he should fight for him

What did he say after Gordon asked if he thinks he moonlights for Penguin? Before he punches him? Ive watched it like 10 times I can’t make out a word of it?
dracula
dracula - 2/17/2022, 3:29 AM
@connorblaze - he says he thinks the guy is moonlighting as a cop

meaning the guy probably worked for penguin before he joined the police force
regularmovieguy
regularmovieguy - 2/17/2022, 6:45 AM
@dracula

He’s saying he still works with the Penguin. Moonlighting just refers to someone working a second gig.

Sounds like he beat his ass at the club and recognized him.

Who should be his Joker?

Before he died my pick was Gaspard Ulliel, they were around the same age and seem to have a similar style, Gaspard was great in Hannibal Rising.

@dracula - With enough make-up, bring Phoenix back.
Jack played him being almost 20 years older than Keaton.

Of course, do this for the third film, use other villains first.

@TheLobster - you’re watching a tiny 30 second clip of an (almost) 3 hour movie, it’s meant to be kinda out of context…

The way Gordon delivered his lines were silly, I laughed when Batman punched him, and Battison running was just lame lol

I hope this is just a bad scene out of context.
Conquistador
Conquistador - 2/17/2022, 4:36 AM
@TheLobster - The interaction betweeen Gordon and R Batts was alright, i'm liking his manerisms, slight, but chilling. I suppose it is out of context though, as we don't know excactly what preceeds it.

The running was weak though! i agree. They could have dressed that ish up a bit. I'm still not sold on that suit.

WOW. Hopefully context and harsh editing is key here, as that was an extremely bad and sloppy clip. Urgh.

Really? Feel like we were just seeing the last 30 seconds of a scene. I didn’t think the editing looked cut to shit or anything.

@regularmovieguy - Just from this clip, which can be the case whenever a scene does get an early preview on talkshows etc. This one just really made me chuckle
MarvelousMarty

Hmmmmm, the running looked ok to me but the interaction between Bat's and Gordon did seem a little off. Hopefully just out of context but I'm a tiny bit worried now.
