The Dark Knight dies?

The Dark Knight dies?

Does Cracked actually have it all figured out for The Dark Knight Rises? Lets see and we can all judge.

I tend to just randomly surf the web, but every once in a while you come across something kind of interesting. That exact thing happened to me today and I thought I would share it and see what others thought about it here. I hope everyone enjoys this and doesn't take it as fact but as a very possible scenario.

I came across a blog post on Cracked that really caught my eye. The headline title of which is Advanced Batman Theory: Why Nolan Will Kill Bruce Wayne. Although this post is meant to be comical, the person does a very good job of presenting their theory.

I will not type the whole thing out for you because that is just wrong. I will however try to give you a pretty decent idea of his points and a way to go read the whole article if you so desire. Let's start off with everyone understanding that this is Nolan's "Dark Knight Trilogy". Keep that in mind and follow.

Then they bring up an interesting little aspect about John Blake(Joseph Gordon Levitt)that I won't ruin here. But I will say do you really think JGL would only get a bit part in a movie like this? and consider the aspects.

In the end remember even in the movies he has sad that He has to be a symbol. A symbol doesn't have to live but survive. I hope you all look into this and post your thoughts.

I read it earlier. I don't agree.

Batman could "die". But Bruce Wayne can still live.

But since this is an older Bruce Wayne, I'm more alright with him dying than I was if I heard he was younger.

No to anybody else continuing/filling the whole hero/vigilante role.

"How long do you let PAIN dominate your life?"

The Gotham Trilogy epic conclusion would probably be more satisfying with Bruce's death, so... bring it on!

@yossarian I don't mind criticisms and hey this would hep improve your stuff but if you just say well this is Shitty then you aren't helping me improve much.

@3D I can see what you mean for their reasons sure.

@Fats see I don't think they are gonna do that with Rises simply because that is the end of the trilogy and they will need a new Batman style for the whole universe.

@ Strange1 I actually agree now that I kinda see how they are bringing him to the screen story wise.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Batman defeating bane, but getting seriously injured in the process. Then the end gets left open so that WB can either continue the franchise in a Batman Beyond type way or even The Dark Knight Returns. But I could be way off.

I don't think that Bane want's to kill Batman. I think that he just wants to reveal his identity and humiliate his legacy; he wants to perhaps demonstrate that everything Bats achieved is phoney and that the only way to save Gotham will be to impose his dictatorship. His goal is to conquer Gotham by imposing his presence and by erasing the "symbol" of Batman...and Harvey Dent.

I hope that they're right about everything. These ideas are spectacular. If it turns out to be anything like this, then it could be so good that I completely ignore the fact that Bane's mask looks like Zoidberg's mouth!

@Yossarian: I honestly can't stand you, but you've got a great point. Well said, dude.

Do people know some thing I don't because every keeps on going on about how JGL role is a small one, I mean have any of you read the script, I'm guessing you haven't so what gives you the idea that its just a bit part is it because he's playing a cop. the police force plays a huge role in all of nolans movies.

@every one who read the article in the link or just this article for that matter.

LETS face IT!! We have all entertained the possibility of this being Nolan's epic ending ever sense such a 'errie' emphasis was put on not merely concluding but ENDing the trilogy and how that point kept being hammered seemilngly beyond the simple fact of 'wrapping up' a particlualr directors trilogy/take on a franchise. It basically rivals only Miranda Tate is Talia al Ghul in how well kept a secret it laughably is at this point. But here is my punchline. You guys know that I'm the resident 'annoying kid bro' and not the smartest member however why is no body pointing out the obvious; NOLAN COULD NOT 'KILL' OR KILL OFF EITHER BRUCE WAYNE OR BATMAN (if you can seperate the 2 as many seem to try to do) EVEN IF HE WANTED TO. WARNER BROS AND DC WOULD NEVER EVER ALLOW IT. IN FACT IT MAY DAMAGE THE CHARACTER TO A POINT THAT COULD NOT BE MEASURED UNTIL THE AFTERMATH! I mean think about it. This is not like that OH so cheap "Batman R.I.P" story line in comics which was spoon fed to resident hard core Batfans &followers. WE are talking about the death of the charcater being presented to America and the world and every average-joe-movie-goer (non-CBM/DC/Batfans) who cares to pick up a ticket!!!Think I'm being overly dramatic/over the top? Well think back (should be ez for those of you over 28 or so) to the killing of Robin (not me, the 2nd white boy one) that could not be contained within fanboys and fanship. It flooded over into the gen public and has even seeped into Americana. I don't think Warner/DC would take the chance in at minimum HUGELY confusing average-joe-movie-goers/non-CBM/Batfans and ultimately even Americanna &the world and at maximum who knows exactly how it could damage the property. Itd be a helluva bag of cat-crap to hand off to the next Director to helm whatd be left of the future franchise (btw that 'cat-crap' line was not Catwoman related like Fox's "she'll do fine against cats" in TDK)

No one better die. The mere concept is stupid. Why the hell would this movie be called The Dark Knight RISES, if he dies?

@Moonwalker1991: Maybey, the Dark Knight "Rises" to become a legend, or Maybey, he "rises" up above the enemy to defeat him (not literally of course).

I completely agree with Yossarion here.

JGL is a cop, but he's working for the league of shadows, he gets shot in the head. I've been saying it for months and i'm going to laugh when all the people that think he's robin, riddler, joker, or the new batman see it. lol
