I am one of the few who don't believe The Dark Knight is the best superhero movie of all-time. I am not saying its horrible. Its probably number 3. I think number 1 goes to Spider-man 2 (Although that movie has its miscues as well) followed by Iron-man. But this is about The Dark Knight. Here's why I don't think:

Joker says hes a man without a plan. But yet he planned to get caught. He planned for Dent to become psycho. He obviously planned to blow up the police station since he implanted a bomb in a dudes stomach. He put bombs in the ferry's and planned for the to blow up. The movie has a ton of plot holes.

To go even more in-dept. He planned to get caught. He planned for Bat-man to slam him against the window, so the he can use a piece of broken glass to slit the guards throat the take his gun and hold up another guard.

I know there's a ton more that is unexplained or doesn't fit. That's all i can really think of right now with out going to the extreme in-depth.

It's cool that you don't think TDK was the best comic book movie, but I think you are creating some of these holes in order to make a case. One of your arguments is understandable and I can see why you would think it is a "hole."

I think what the Joker was trying to do was manipulate Dent. He was telling Dent that he "has no plans." He never said any of this to Batman. I agree, it's pretty clear that he had plans. He was a criminal genius and had a goal from the start. It's pretty obvious to me that he was trying to manipulate and piss off Dent in order to accomplish his other plan (i.e. making Dent his "Ace in the hole"). The hole you are talking about was simply a part in the movie in which the Joker was manipulating another character.

Finally, I don't think the Joker "planned" to have Batman smash his head on the glass so that he could use it later on a cop in order to use the phone. I think it's pretty clear that this was just a coincidence. I feel like you are searching for something to slam in this case.

And dude, really? There is a TON more that cannot be explained or doesn't fit? What movie were you watching? I can see bringing up a couple of things that don't fit perfectly, but come on. And this coming from someone who loved Spiderman and Iron Man...two movies that are so far out of touch of reality. They were very good but I hate it when Spiderman/Iron Man lovers trash TDK on the basis of reality or plot holes. Just say "I liked these movies more" or "Dark Knight just didn't do it for me."

Yeah, this was great, very funny and well made..but the "holes" in the plot they try to parody are pretty much ..well, not!

I'm also another that feels The Dark Knight is not the best comic book movie adaptation. That award goes to Iron Man.

Also, when the Joker states he's a man without a plan, he was just trying to get Dent on his side, he also said he didn't set off the charges that took out Rachel sooo yeah, the continuity and holes that you speak of? Not so much buddy.

KING I'm really happy for you, and I'm going to let you finish thinking of plot holes, but The Dark Knight is the best comic book movie of all time!(but Iron man and S2 were great movies too).

Late, but when he said he has no plans, he was referring to the end, not the means. He could have killed Batman and destroyed the city and he would have. . . Moved on. Gotten nothing out of it. This is hardly a plot hole the way you looked at it, however. More of a paradox.

"She was so much hotter in Batman Begins." That's the funniest part to me. Poor Maggie. Good actress, but not realy a looker. Kinda sucks that people can't accept a leading lady that they aren't attracted to.
