The Dark Knight Rises Digital Spy's most anticipated film of 2012

Simon Reynolds of Digital Spy previews the top 20 most anticipated films of 2012. Christopher Nolan's epic 3rd Batman film was the most anticipated of a very diverse list.

Simon Reynolds writes

1. The Dark Knight Rises
Released: July 20
Why you should see it: The last of the Christian Bale/Christopher Nolan Batman movies, this promises a monumental showdown between the Dark Knight and Tom Hardy's musclebound villain Bane. Will Bats get his back broken? Will Commissioner Gordon make it out of that hospital bed? Will we ever see Robin? (probably not!). We'll have to wait until the summer to find out! This had to be number one, right?

On related notes, The Avengers came in at #6 and The Amazing Spider-man #12.

Ghost Rider was not among the list.

@intruder.

Says the guy who once posted an article solely dedicated to a rotten tomatoes review (a highly flawed review at that) that gave TDK a rotten rating.

Django Unchained, Hunger Games and War Horse are more anticipated than The Hobbit and The Avengers? Yeah right... seems like the list reflects the personal opinion of the writer, it's not based on surveys or data analysis of any kind. Basically a waste of perfectly good web space.
