Bad Review Before Seeing The Dark Knight Rises

A top critic gave The Dark Knight Rises a review to make a point about fans’ bad reaction.

While The Dark Knight Rises is coming soon to theaters, the reviews for the film are already being posted and it is overwhelmingly positive. Unfortunately, a top critic from Rotten Tomatoes, Eric D. Snider, intentionally posted a bad review, before watching the film to manipulate the score on Rotten Tomatoes. The review has since been removed from Rotten Tomato.

"Snider openly admits he’s intentionally trying to manipulate the Rotten Tomato score system, he admits he hasn’t even really seen the film yet, and he admits to overtly bad intentions — altering the RT score and angering RT community members — while also openly insulting Rotten Tomato members as well. So, some people are bound to start asking, why is he still granted Top Critic status on Rotten Tomatoes? And now that he’s rather obviously admitted to bias and bad intentions, does that change how trustworthy his reviews are in the eyes of the public and — more to the point — in the eyes of Rotten Tomatoes?"

Stop getting so butt hurt about this. He said in the article that he would be posting his review soon, so he was going to change the score if he enjoyed the movie. He did it to freak people out and to show how much people take negative reviews far too seriously.
He got 200 or so comments in a space of 10 minutes. He did it to prove a point.
Stop overreacting and stop praising a movie that you haven't even seen yet.

I don't give a damn abut TDKR, but that is just stupid. SMH. Kinda makes RT lose crtical credibility

@JBourne- That will come. Right now, it's DC's time so stay off TDKR articles. Your welcome.

@CrimsonArk Ohhhhhh, so he posted that review just to cause commotion and get hits on his site. Well that's ok then.. Totally justifiable.

So basically he made a mockery of the system? While I understand what he was trying to do, it's kind of classless to do that to the web site who has made you popular. Just think about it, without RottenTomatoes, how many of these critics would we actually know?

Good, he proved his point, maybe people will stop caring so much what other peoples likes and dislikes are for a movie when you don't even know them.

Don't get me wrong.. I understand the concept here. Just not from a film critic. How do you review movies for a living, then bash a crowd for reading them?

Who gives a flying [frick] about RT?! The reviews, good and bad are shitty, CinemaScore is where it's at!

"There is a lot of classic comedies and good movies that critics hated when they were first released.Caddyshack,Animal House,Bachelor Party.I say damn em."

Exactly. Same reason I don't put to much stock in reviews. Two of those three are revered classics, and the Bachelor Party should be, it is [frick]ing hilarious.

@ Sagemode - Minotard sounds like the best way to refer to him, judging from his comments on this post.

What's with all these (Marvel fans) coming on a Dark Knight thread, anything they can use to make people turn on DC a little bit more...I mean the guy made a false review for his own pleasure its not about the movie review its about the principle of the thing...and give it a break with the whole phase 2 thing acting like a bunch of nagging kids wanting their mother to see there newly drawn artwork on the refrigerator

@graveyardtramp

fair enough.
but there's being irrational, and there's just being a misogynist douchebag who thinks is some kind of cinema snob just because they suck on Nolan's c*ck everytime they can.
