Looks Like Tom Hardy Really Could Play Killer Croc In Batman 3

Comic writer Mark Millar just hinted via Twitter that the Inception star may well be playing the cannibalistic Killer Croc in Chris Nolan's next Batman movie!

This will all depend on whether you believe a word out of Mark Millars's mouth, of course. But the connections are there and ripe for rumor picking. Firstly the controversial writer tweeted last week that he knew who the villains in Batman 3 were...

1) Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale.

2) One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected.

/Film followed this up with the suggestion that the villain may be Killer Croc, based on what Millar said and the news that Nolan would be filming in Louisiana. Swamp county!

Now, we have some, more to go on. Millar just tweeted:

Tom Hardy as Killer Croc? I like the sound of that. PS Superior #1 out today, but sold out in 4 hours. Thank you, fellow gingers.

So if, and its a big if, Millar does indeed know the identity of Batman 3's villain, its a safe bet we will be getting to see Tom hardy and Chris Nolan's undoubtedly real world take on one of Batman's most vicious and fantastical villains.

KILLER CROC WILL NOT BE IN BATMAN 3!!!

HE DOES NOT FIT INTO NOLAN'S REALITY FOR THE BATMAN CHARACTER.

ALSO...ISNT KILLER CROC A BLACK GUY?

ThaMessenger07 - 10/13/2010, 12:13 PM
@ ckyallie69: Killer Croc's Original Story is perfect for Nolans big screen just not as the Main Villain.

Better be Black Mask.

Just because Killer Croc could be done does not mean he will be. Also Mark Millar probably does not know what he is saying he is not close to those filmmakers or DC or Warner Brothers.

For all we know Tom Hardy will have ten minutes screentime as someone like a cop then disappear I remember people thought Anthony Michael Hall would be Riddler and he was just a newscaster.

man... i really like Millar... but really? is that really your place, Mark? he's like the kid in school who has to have everything before everyone- or at least let people know he does

I'm tellin ya guys, its not outside the realms of possibility. As others have said, the character is actually quite easy to update to a more realistic version. I don't know if I believe Millar either, but stranger things have happened.

Alreg, yeah, except we know he has a main role.

You all realize that there is a question mark at the end of that statement, right? Millar's obviously giving his thoughts on either someone's idea or a rumor. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

But, Tom would clearly be better suited to play Black Mask instead of Killer Croc.

killer croc does deserve to finally come to life onscreen, but so does Black Mask. GAH! I want it all!

LIES.

Seriously, Mark Millar rates somewhere between the Daily Sun and Mr. Strogonov, the drunk hobo who lives down my street as far as reliable sources go.

Check out my DOWN fan cast.

@KILLADELFIA-For a guy with a Lee Bermejo Joker picture, you sure don't know much about his Croc interpretation.

@ckyallie69

as much Killer Croc might not be in the movie. the character was not always a Human Crocodile.

Killer Croc is a person with a skin disorder "Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis"

AshleyWilliams - 10/13/2010, 12:29 PM
Of course,to be fair, Hardy isn't black like the Bermejo one so who knows.

I think he's going to play Gambit. He will meet up with Batman in a lounge and they'll fight in an ally. He then agree's to fly Batman to Three Mile Island where they are making deformed alligator people with painted on clown faces. After a climactic battle, Batman will be shot with an adamantium bullet and not remember who Gambit is when he shows up to help him.

Maybe not. That would never work on film.

norrinradd85 - 10/13/2010, 12:35 PM
Ron Perlman would be better suited for Killer Croc but the character doesn't really fit in the Nolan Batman universe in my opinion.

Tom Hardy should play Superman.

Also Nolan really should have considered recasting the Joker with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Joseph has the look and could really recapture what Ledger brought to the role.

OdinsBeard
OdinsBeard - 10/13/2010, 12:39 PM
Intruder@ i have a great way to bring Freeze into the "real world"! he could totally work out. but thats another topic for another day. but you could build a theme around love. Obviously Victor's wife is ill and all of that but put that up against Bruce Wayne- two men who could never REALLY love again. One cannot ever physically touch another human being, the other got the love of his life killed.

The only way I could see Croc working in a Nolan Batman movie is if it's like the Azarello/Bermejo Croc.

Hardy doesn't really fit that type. (even with race aside)

he'll probably be cast as one of these.

1.the riddler
2.black mask
3.hush
4.deadshot
5.deathstroke

Miller is always trying to get fanboys all riled up. Right after Superman, Batman has always been my 2nd favorite hero. Killer Croc and Scarface were two villains i've always said I wanted in the 3rd film...Scarface adds that creepy, psychological element that Nolan is good with...while Croc provides the physical threat and of course gotta bring back Scarecrow somehow. I'm saying Croc and Scarface because they have never been used in a film yet and this could be their chance to be introduced to non-fan movie-goers ie- the general audience. I'm pretty sure the general audience already know- Joker, Penguin, Two-Face and Riddler. But that's why going with villains only we fans know- Croc and Scarface is a good way to end the trilogy.

I for one, am not going to believe a single word out of Miller's stupid mouth. He is usually wrong with these rumors.
