The people over at /Film have noticed that select AMC IMAX theaters have begun selling tickets to opening night showings of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. While there is not a huge number of theaters doing it the list below includes the cities San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. If you live in any of these cities follow the links in the list to Fandango where you can get your tickets.

Theaters selling the tickets include:

AMC Loews Metreon 16 in San Francisco, CA

AMC CityWalk Stadium 19 in Los Angeles, CA

The tickets that are on sale are for midnight showings only as of right now, so if you want your tickets get them fast. Stay tuned to CBM for the latest news on The Dark Knight Rises.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and will be released on July 20, 2012.

Pissed that there aren't any tickets selling in Britain. I'm not a fan of midnight showings, so I'm gonna go July 21 and see it in 70mm IMAX, cos don't have the money to go to London just to see the movie so have to make a day of it -_-

Ehhh, I will probably be working until 4AM that night anyway. I have the worst rotation this summer. However, I do intend to check out the 5AM showing though the day it comes out. I did that last time when I was in college and it was awesome. Theater was busy, but everyone was too tired to be obnoxious. That, and it was a lot of retired folk.

I am not even convinced I want to see this in the theater yet. I am hoping I will see more that will personally entice and convince me I will be pleased with the film, but I am very picky about what films I decide to shell out theater money for, especially IMAX money.

I'm not sure if TASM's Midnight Premiere will be a geekfest or not. I know The Avengers will be. And I have a feeling more old timers will show up for TDKR. If I'm not working, I got to experience these, in IMAX too, digital IMAX sadly. I need to move to LA or NYC.

I can't go to the 12:00AM show. The last BART train runs at 12:30AM and I don't want to have to be a hobo in downtown SF for 5 hours until it reopens :(
