While on the set of his new movie Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy which is currently filming in Istanbul, a locat news station caught up with the actor to ask him about being cast in the highly anticipated third installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise.



"I start in the summer of 2011 I think, I'm very excited about working with Christian Bale."

"Who am I playing? I'm not really sure [laughs]."


The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012. Stay tuned to CBM for more news as it becomes available, and be sure to have a great Christmas!

No way was he going to be caught out by a question about who he's playing! Hardy knows alright, but we'll find out when Nolan wants us to and not before! Can't wait to find out though...it'll be amazing to have this, The Avengers and a new Spider-Man movie all in the same year!

Spider-Man 1 and 2 were good, 3 sucked! Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were awesome! The Dark Knight Rises will BURY Spider-Man in 3-D!

4. Spiderman Reboot i thinks that will probably be the order wolverine might slip in to that order aswell but i am sure TDKR will be the best since this is nolans swan song (this is coming from a marvel fan)

Hardy's got a good reputation in the U.K for achieving a lot in relatively little time. Like Bale he really gets in to the roles.
I didn't think the Strange role would have been best suited to him. He's a young suave guy, who will be proceeding TDKR with being Mad Max.
I'm guessing he'll play either Bullock or Oswald Cobblepot. Bare in mind this series is for a young batman so why not a young penguin?

intruder-Its been Batman vs. marvel pretty much since batman begins and DC is crushing marvel in the movie department. yes the first two spider-man and iron movies were very good but thats it! BBegins/TDK are two of the best 1-2 punches in film, not just CBM's. Not to mention the watchmen. Green lantern will destroy thor in the box office. Batman begins is just as good as TDK maybe better like u said...Bale's best performance

Black Mask, The Penguin, Red Hood, Firefly, Deadshot, The Riddler, Killer Croc, Hush, David Cain, Great White Shark or Hugo Strange!:) He can pull off any of these roles!

Talia and Bane as the other villains!

2 comic book lovers...the Avengers is like the ""holy Grail" of cbm's!!!..but 2 the rest of the world...Batman 3 will prolly be more hyped...it all depends on how well the general audience takes in Thor and cap..if they r as big as they look like they r gonna be...TDKR dosnt stand a chance :)

and THOR will destroy the Lantern!!!!

Thou i prefer William Hurt or Ralph Fiennes as Hugo Strange if he is in the movie, but Hardy would be great too!
