Christopher Nolan and director of photography Wally Pfister had to make a big decision before starting filming on Inception. ANd that was whether they would be able to shoot the thriller in IMAX as they did with parts of The Dark Knight.

"Finally I had to tell Chris that the way he was describing the film, so much of it wanted to be with a handheld camera and kind of running around," Pfister told MTV News in a recent interview. "That's just not physically possible with the IMAX camera. We ruled out shooting in IMAX."

What has any of that got to do with Batman 3 you ask? Well, it seems like the director of photography definitely wouldnt rule out shooting the upcoming movie in the format entirely, "I can't say until I read the script, but it would certainly be my preferred, amazing goal to shoot the whole movie in IMAX."

@ teabag Damn you! I didn't even notice til you mentioned it. Also, if I don't care how they film this movie. It will be amazing. Don't believe me? Just watch Nolan's films: each one gets better than the one before.

@Tough Eh. I don't mind 3D. I mean I have seen some movies where it is merited. But Clash of the Titans and the like? Hell no. IMO Batman 3 should not be 3D.

LMAO tea! :D That's exactly the kind of creative "first/fist" comments we need!

I saw Inception in IMAX but I didnt really find it to be al that much better an experience to be honest. The Dark Knight IMAX scenes looked great on blu-ray though.

And taking Batman, I just watched Under The Hood online. Meh, now I remember why I dont bother with animated movies! :P It was alright (I didnt like the changes from the comic book arc for a start) but some of the voices just didnt seem to fit with the characters, although the fight/vehicle scenes were pretty good to be fair.

All I know is, after Inception I would happily watch Nolan direct a Dora The Explorer movie. I'm pretty confident batman 3 will be the greatest CBM of all time..as long as he doesn't use The Fiddler:)

inception was amaizing in regular theaters, and i will soon see it in imax. can't wait to understand more of it. it was easy, but some of it was confusing at times. other then that bat 3 shud be shot in imax, and there will be news at comic con this yr about the script. next yr we will know the villian

Not everyone has an IMAX theater near them. And wouldn't it cost them more money to do it in that format? I think Nolan mentioned that a long time ago around TDK time frame.

I only want a few scenes in IMAX. This is probably my most anticipated movie of all time.

That is the reason that I dislike Celtx,pass4sure 646-363 even though it is a great tool for a someone that is serious about scriptwriting.pass4sure 642-446 If you use Celtx, you can connect online and generate a PDF that gives you your page count; you just open the PDF file somewhere and see what the total number of pages are.pass4sure 642-524 But you have to have an internet connection to generate the PDF. pass4sure 642-504 I work offline.
