UPDATED: Nobody Knows Any Dark Knight News? I Call BS!!!

This months report of 'People that were involved in making 'The Dark Knight' that have no knowledge of a sequel' news is getting deep. My prediction is that soon everyone involved making 'The Dark Knight' will sooner or later step forth and say they have no knowledge of a 'Batman 3.'
PLUS: CorndogBuglar brings up the very excellent question: "Should The Joker and Robin be in the third Nolan Batman Film?"

Come On Man!

And why not. Everyone and there momma has come forth to say 'When it comes to Nolan's Batman, I have no idea if there will be a third installment or not?"

The latest of these types of statements comes from Hans Zimmer, Nolan's film composer for 'Batman Begins' and 'TDK'.

"I don't know if there's a Batman 3 or not. I really don't," he responded to IGN.com. "When Chris tells me a paragraph of a story...at that moment the synapses will start firing. It's as simple as that."

Ah Ha!!! So you know but you don't know eh? Let's clear this up. Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' made more money then any other comic book movie in History. I know, for some of you news like that is hard to swallow, for others probably not. But that being as it may, Warner Brothers is going to make a 'Batman 3' with or with out Nolan. My guess is that Nolan will start dropping hints the closer 'Inception' gets to its theatrical release.

Who would turn down a chance to do something your really good at and make a gazillion dollars (Batman Begins, TDK) and then go on to do what you want to for a year or two (Inception, The Prestige) only to be welcomed back by the franchise that is footing the bill? Crazy people in Hollywood that's who. But Nolan's not that crazy to walk out of the Batman franchise. At least not yet.

So believe what you want but I guarantee you that we will have another Batman movie in theaters by the year 2012 or 2013, with or with out Nolan. Let's just hope they don't scrap the successful currant Bat franchise and put him back in school or '90210' it to death. Cough, Cough, ahem, ahem, sorry Spidey!

UPDATED!!!
I just received an exclussive tip from an inside source:

"A friend of mine works for a video game developer in the Seattle area, and he's already got concept art, character sheets and the storyline for the Batman Video game based on the 3rd movie. Development on this game has been underway for a few months. Dunno if that helps you or anything but there you go."

Nothing concrete but what is concrete about Batman movie news these days?

See, I told ya!!!

They've got Robin for that 90210 crap. Use him. Batman has never been a teenager in most of his stories. I think Bale's ego is too big for a Robin.

As much as I loved Nolan's Batman movies, I'd be fine with another reputable director taking over who has a passion for it. I'd rather get a move on than play the will he or won't he game for another year or two. I'm sure even Nolan is getting sick of the "hemming and hawing" surrounding his return... I know I am.

Chris Nolan is at the top of my list of most talented film makers who get too full of themselves.

Jman, you're precisely right. With or without Nolan or anyone else in the current franchise for that matter, we will have a 3rd Batman.

Nolan is still focusing on Inception

Batman might be really important to you but ultimately to him it is just another film.

Huge Batman fan, hope Nolan is involved in the third installment. I think it should be a lot darker with either Bain or Clay Face as the villain.

@Betty :funny u mention that bcuz he said he isn't even down for havin Robin in the series- makes me want them 2 find a replacement - as far as Robin goes -maybe we need a Teen Titans movie rifht now- one that ISN"T 902'd out

CorndogBurglar - 1/25/2010, 12:13 PM
@ jman

you're right, nolan would be a lunatic to not do another Batman. i have no doubt he'll be back to finish the trilogy, and its already been reported that nolan would decide after Inception is finished (which, btw, Inception looks awesome!)

@ anil

there's not really anything left to tie up with the scarecrow and joker plots...Scarecrow's plot got tied up in the last one, and joker got thrown into Arkham. there is no need whatsoever to have either one of them in a third bat-movie.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 1/25/2010, 12:17 PM
i don't understand why so many people think the joker needs to be in the third. he really doesn't. his story got finished in the last one. sure, he said "we can do this forever". but does that really warrant the need for him to be in the next movie?? that isn't a dangling plot thread, its just something he said. its not like he's still on the loose, or something from TDK didn't get resolved. if that were the case then he would need to be in EVERY batman movie until he was killed off, then people would lynch Nolan for killing the joker.

its not like the joker is in EVERY batman comic or story.

@ atombomb

Darker?? i thought the last one was pretty dark, and nolan will never do a villain like Clayface, no way (as cool as it would be to see him).

Your source is lying. And that's not just speculation - I know for sure. Unless he's thinking of the new Arkham game or something. I live just outside Chicago, and I have a "friend" who works on just about every film shot in the Northern Il area. He's worked on BB, TDK, Public Enemies, you name it - all on the films' respective vehicular departments.

With both BB and TDK, the concept art department shared a warehouse with the vehicular team and things were kept tight. Anyway, this "friend" has told me that the crew hasn't been contacted about anything yet. I'll tell you what I can, I'm just affraid I'll type something and WB wil erase me from existance.

I don't tell people about this. I'm probably going to get flamed and called a lier. But those pics are real, they're mine, and I have plenty more. Having connections to this film is what got me coming to this site. All I can say is, a game wouldn't be in developement when the script is most likely in early stages, no sets have been built, and no one has been cast.

Damn when the hell there is gonna be any news, Im sick of all this waiting! But on the otherhand, I would rather wait like this rather than get an announcement that Batman 3 IS coming out but then get another announcement a year later saying its not coming out and a reboot is happening (Im looking at you Sony, you bastards)

But seriously, all us fans need is Christopher Nolan to return to finish off his amazing Batman trilogy & also finish off the story he started. Then if the third one ends with Batman as a heroic vigilante again, a new director can make the next Batman trilogy loose sequels to Nolan's movies without the need for any more reboots

@brazilianbatman: These were taken early spring 2007, during the production of TDK, I was just posting them to try and prove I wasn't lying. As much as it pains me to say, I can assure you all that production of Batman 3 isn't very far along... Early script stages at the latest.

I think Joker should definately be in the 3rd, at least as an inmate at Arkham, manipulating Harley Quinn. As for Robin, I think he could be really awesome and dark if done right. Whenever people think about Robin they imagine a 10 year old inna bright speedo and pixie boots. The truth is Robin can be sumthin of a badass. I think they should portray him as more of a Batman wannabe vigilante on the Westside or sumthin initially, but then Bruce takes him under his wing.

Number 3 should have catwoman black mask and a cameo/short scene with deadshot. With robin teaser at the end. Done.

I've recently been watching the BB and TDK bluerays, and the thing that occurs to me is that Nolan had a pretty close relationship to Nathan Crowley (the head designer on both films). So I suppose the loss of Ledger AND Crowley may have had a major impact on his enthusiasm.

Plus, Inception is 100% original Nolan material - from what I've seen and read so far it looks mindblowing, and I think he should spend as much time perfecting it as he can.

At this point, my confidence has grown that JGL could pull off a half decent Joker cameo - God he looks like Heath. And I have no particular aversion to a Robin/Nightwing story, as long as it's wrapped up quick - except that it could take away from Nolan's attention to redefining more complex/interesting characters.

I have no complaints as long as they introduce a stealth bomber for the Batwing and Depp as The Riddler ;P, and it better be done before Caine or Freeman die... because, unfortunately, that clock is ticking.

Ryguy88 - 1/25/2010, 6:46 PM
That Batman 3 video game is probably BS as they didn't make a Dark knight game and there is already an Arkham Asylum sequel in the works.
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 1/25/2010, 6:58 PM
If the "JGL" you are talking about is that Levitt guy than that is a shit idea....sorry but it is. A small cameo for Joker, maybe a Hannibal Lectar in Silence of the Lambs type of role would be cool.
