Wally Pfister reveals more about 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

The cinematographer offers up some more teasers about the film and basically tells fans to be prepared to be blown away, yet again.

Very few people at this point have read the script for 'The Dark Knight Rises', which means very few people even know what this film is about, luckily for us, one of those select few recently spoke out in an interview and talked a bit about the upcoming film.

Cinematographer Wally Pfister was interviewed on The Kevin and Josh Movie Show.

When asked how you top 'The Dark Knight'.

“I asked the same question. I read the script two weeks ago, and he’s done it. Plain and simple — he’s done it. It’s a phenomenal script. He’s still in the process of cutting it back because it’s a very long script right now, but it’s really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight again. When I watched those I had read the script for The Dark Knight Rises and was like, ‘dude, it is a perfect trilogy.’ I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures — and they are very different pictures. And it’s funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better.”

And on shooting the film in IMAX

“Our goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can. We’re going to put in on the screen, and put it on the screen big. And I really encourage everyone to see it in IMAX if they can because we’re really going for it this time. In terms of the action, we are all scratching our heads right now trying to figure out how we’re going to do it; how we’re going to do it in the amount of time we’re going to do it in. The opening scene of the movie will blow your mind.”

That last sentence instantly got me excited for this film even more.
What do you guys think they might have in store for us?

@Intruder: That would be my dream opening scene for this movie! I actually wrote my own script for my idea for the third Batman film last year or something and posted it on Rottentomatoes.com. The first scene was exactly that!

Anyways...If this guy says that this film will be the best yet then I'm sure i may orgasm when the credits roll. I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT!!!!!!

I'm really excited Bane is going to be in this. I have no doubt Nolan is going to make him a great villain. I hope the action scenes are an improvement from TDK though.

Sounds very good. Of course, everyone involved is gonna say it's good so it's not confirmation, but it's still nice to hear.
I imagine the opening scene could be a SWAT team chasing Batman like in Year One, Mask of the Phantasm, and this

I really am looking forward to this movie, but I can't help to think that with the first two films being so good, and with the characters Nolan has chosen, that this film will be anything but a disappointment.

I hope I'm wrong, though. And if anyone was going to defy the odds, it would be Nolan.

I am very excited about the opening scene, I think this is where Batman show us how amazing he has become.

Although I can't wait to see this movie, in trilogy the last one is usually the worst. If Chris Nolan can match or out do TDK, I would never doubt him again.

Too bad then, f your country only has one IMAX theater and it only plays "the livng sea" over and over and over...

This all sounds like good news.

What I was wondering regarding Bane was, do you think Nolan had the character in the script before he wanted Tom Hardy in the film? Or do you think he wanted Tom Hardy in the film and so based a character suitable for him to play and put him into the completed script?

The opening scene: Bane breaks Batman's back. That'd blow our little minds, wouldn't it?
It sounds like he is doing the Knights Trilogy. That's why the script is still too long. That would definately be a challenge to adapt in one movie. Although the radio drama adaptation did manage to do it in just over 3 hours, so it's possible.

@grif I think you can use a reboot or two. How about something positive for once?
Anyways, I can't see how Dark Knight can be topped. But if it's possible....bring it on.

okay, now i'm starting to get excited!

I still don't see how putting catwoman and bane in this one helped him to complete the trilogy, but wth do I know, it's his film, so I say hurry the hell up summer 2012!!!

@gambit - How is Oklahoma so behind the rest of the US technologically? That's absurd. I literally have 8 IMAX theaters within 25 miles of my home. 3 of them are within 3 miles!

Haha i seriously "eeked" like a little girl just now. I am a major ass fan of Batman since the beginning. of course all the comics since the beginning i can;t really find anywhere near my town, so i download them but when any new batman comic comes out, i grab it and buy it. no matter what people say, Batman is the Best Hero Ever!
