One of the many problems fans had with Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was the film's depiction of the villainous Doomsday, who actually looked more like the Cave Troll from The Fellowship of the Ring than the incredibly powerful creature that was responsible for Supes' death in the comics.

Though Doomsday did undergo a gradual transformation that left him looking a bit more like his comic book counterpart, artist Jerad S.Marantz has shared some of his early concept designs for the character which bare a much closer resemblance to the spiky behemoth we know and love. The third version went a little OTT, but arguably still looks cooler than the one they ended up going with!

Makes me wonder if they ran out of time on the CGI rendering - Zack seems to like his weird creations and CG weirdness so I can't imagine why he didn't go with any of these. He is nothing if not fairly accurate to source in style and visuals.

@ElJefe - They had time. Just went with a horrible design because the cg is great on doomsday. Just the actual desifn was ass.

@VandalSavage - that doesn't mean anything, who knows when they started, or if they had to redo him at some point.

6 months really isn't that long, and that delay was probably for other reasons. Point is: that delay doesn't mean they didn't run out of time.

DAAAAUUUM! That doomsday is pretty awesome. Really spiky and intimidating. More jagged.

I like the second one the best, but their all better than the film version, IMO.
