David S. Goyer Says DC/WB "Would Love To Make Their Universe More Cohesive"

Right now DC's cinematic and TV output run parallel to each other without actually existing in the same universe..but could that change? During an interview with IGN, one of the main players at the studio suggests that it's definitely something Warner Bros. are thinking about..

Even since the Smallville days fans have wondered if we'd ever see a DC themed television show cross over with a Warner Bros. big screen release, and the desire to witness this has only intensified since the studio have recently began to lay the groundwork for a shared cinematic universe. Also, The CW's Arrow series will now give way to the likes of The Flash spin-off, and they will both likely tie in to future shows too -- so surely we'll eventually see a big screen crossover...right? In an interview with IGN, David S. Goyer first dances around a few Batman VS. Superman questions before admitting that a shared tv/movie universe is indeed something Warner Bros. would love to see happen -- someday.

"I mean, it's too early. I know that Warner Bros. would love to make their universe more cohesive. There have been a lot of general conversations about that, but it's really, really early. I'm not sure. Marvel has had enormous success, but I'm not sure that everybody should try to emulate them either. It's just been vague conversations so far."

Goyer does go on to praise Marvel's success, and says he's very excited to see the likes of Guardians Of The Galaxy and Ant-Man make it to the big screen. For the full interview click the link below.

Why can't they just do what they do in the comics and make a multiverse and not try to mesh two to five different universes?

Why don't they simply stop failing?

Does Goyer like hold WB execs in his basement and says "it puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again" to prevent himself from being fired.

JediPhilosopher, I'm still working on the article. Until you see it on main it's not going to be complete..and that includes a proof read for errors. On this occasion I had to take a call which is why it's been lying in an unfinished state a bit longer than usual.

@BlackJack

You are aware any level headed Batman fan who knows a lot could have given Nolan suggestions on how to do this and that? And advising Nolan doesn't make him a good writer.

Don't get the Goyer hate, I think he's pretty good. Glad it's Terrio writing, though.

I don't know why people keep saying Amell's acting isn't on Cavill/Afflecks level. First off, Cavill isn't even at Affleck's level. No where near his level. He's an unknown and really isn't the best actor for Superman (he definitely looks the part though). If Gal Gadot (who definitely is NOT a good actor/actress) can be Wonder Woman standing beside Affleck's Batman, then why can't Amell stand in the far background as Green Arrow. You don't need an A-list actor to play a C-list character.

Damn WB, always being cryptic [frick]s, can you guys be like Sony just one time and spill some news every day? It'll definitely make my day.

As excited I am for BVS, I want DC to actually go some more. The fake april fools day thing with The Batman and Wonder Woman for 2017 and JL for 2018 would actually be excellent. Establish the trinity, introduce GL and Flash, maybe Aquaman. See what characters clicked in JL and go from there.

I really can't wait to see what they are going to announce. I just want them to finally announce it.

I don't think Amell could hold his own against..Affleck. yes I said it lol he was good in the town and argo! Anyway, Amell seems to have the same 3 expressions on his face in arrow. There's the pretend happy face, mad face, and gloomy face
