GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Director James Gunn Wants You All To Chill Out About BATMAN v SUPERMAN

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn has taken to social media to urge Marvel and DC fans alike to give it a rest when it comes to squabbling over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may not have lived up to expectations but there are a lot of people who loved the movie and that's just fine. Unfortunately, Marvel and DC fans (some people aren't capable of being both) continue to argue about Zack Snyder's work on the movie which pitted the Dark Knight against the Man of Steel and Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn is sick of it!

As you can see below, he took to Twitter last night to make it clear just how pointless this back and forth is and to share his astonishment over the fact the DC Comics adaptation is still being discussed.

After all, there's no way Batman v Superman's haters are ever going to change their minds and the same applies to those who love it! Needless to say, this probably won't change anything - there is
 a contingent of fans on social media who refer to Snyder as a God and others who say he's the worst thing to ever happen to superhero movies - but it definitely leaves us with some food for thought, eh?

Smart man, both DC and Marvel are great and it is crazy people can't enjoy both.

@BlackIceJoe - True. I love them both. What's more, I found it so easy to love them both. Not sure where the intense vitriol comes from, but, each to their own. From a positive point of view, we live in a time where we have multiple comic book films of this magnitude, from different studios, and we have enough to love AND hate!

@BlackIceJoe - Absolutely. I LOVE Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Cap, but I also Love BVS and Suicide Squad, I think I've watched DC more than Marvel, and I consider myself more of a Marvel fan, of their movies. Why can't you have both? Well, you can!

Just explain to us how Lois Lane knew to get the kryptonite spear and what was Lex Luthor's plan with Doomsday had it successfully killed Superman and lived. ALL I WANT TO KNOW!

@kdotdotdot -

1. Before going to save Superman, there was unusual activity happening at his ship that she chose not to cover. When she saw Batman bringing a big grey monster to the Port, she could only conclude that it was because it was Kryptonian, and he was coming back for the spear.

2. That one bothered me a bit as well. But then I realized this is someone who killed over a hundred people, to make Superman feel like the world would be better off without him. He would have no qualms with ending all life on Earth if it meant Superman were dead.

Right on. James Gunn's attitude is refreshing, and his words something more fans should heed. I'm definitely guilty of hopping on the BvS hate train, but James Gunn is right that we're never going to "convince" each other. BvS clearly means a lot to some people, so what's the point of trying to kill somebody else's hype, or to criticize them for liking something? Somebody else liking something should not bother me.

@Erik10101 - the thing is, people do get convinced still.

These conversations have actually helped me see bvs in a better light, recently even. If these debates never happened, I'd probably still hate it.
