The Death of Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came as a genuine surprise, especially as it wasn't among the many rumours which did the rounds before the movie was released. In the video above, Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Amy Adams all react to the Man of Steel's demise, with the actor who plays him the first to weigh in. "The comic book was fantastic, and I think that was a poignant moment in comic book history," Cavill says. "Superman lives in all of us, and it’s the example he sets. And he never goes anywhere as long as we believe in him." That guy just gets it.

Affleck meanwhile also had his own take on why this storyline ended up fitting into the movie, adding: "One of the themes is ‘how far is it okay to go, preventatively, to stop someone who you think might be a threat to you in the future?’ And I think the more you go down that road, the darker it gets." Be sure to watch the video above for more. What did you guys think about Superman falling in battle against Doomsday? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
