Merely a few days after Ben Affleck was controversially announced as the new Batman in Zack Snyder's BATMAN VS SUPERMAN, there were reports that he had started working out two hours a day to get in shape for the superhero role.
Seems like there was some truth to those reports as the costume designer on the current film he is filming, David Fincher's GONE GIRL, commented upon his progress and results so far. (via E! Online)
"I'm trying to keep him at the size he's at right now until he's done with us (GONE GIRL where he plays a suburban dad). I'm sure he's working out but I think for him, he's probably a guy that builds up really quickly so I just kind of asked him if he can stay where he's at right now. He's a really big guy, like he's quite tall. You don't realize how big he is. He kind of reads smaller on film than he does in real life.
Below is a photo from 5 days ago that does indeed show that Affleck has made progress though the filming of BATMAN VS SUPERMAN is still 3 months away and will last through February 2014 to August 2014.

Another interesting tidbit is that Affleck will likely not be training with Gym Jones. It shows that even hired just as an actor, Affleck has some level of independence due to his A-list Oscar winning status in Hollywood because the other actors that worked with Snyder did not to pick their own trainers and have traditionally worked with Gym Jones and Mark Twight (300, MAN OF STEEL, the upcoming 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE). Gym Jones have done a truly exemplary incomparable job in transforming the actors for Snyder's films but his current trainer, Rehan Jalali, also got Affleck into the best shape of his life for THE TOWN.

Rehan Jalali tweets that they can cut a little later but we want our Batman to be a big dude, specially in comparison to Henry Cavill who brought about a staggering physical transformation for MAN OF STEEL and gave us the most physically superior Superman yet. Zack Snyder will have the same effect on Batman and we might be set for the most physically accurate portrayal of Batman yet in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN, something that we never got with Christian Bale's version in the Nolan films.
Rehan Jalali is a natural body-builder himself and has been training Affleck since very long. He has also trained legends like Sylvester Stallone and is a widely published writer on the subjects of training and nutrition. He has been dropping hints on his Twitter that Affleck's training might be going on pretty well.
