I just watched "Dallas Buyers Club", and I have to say that this movie caught me off guard. That movie was amazing, but through watching this wonderful movie, I realized that we might find our new Joker: Jared Leto.

His performance in Dallas Buyers Club deserves an Oscar. He was really able to transform himself to this character he was playing.
There was one scene in the movie, in that scene he was wearing a suit, while his face was almost looking like the Joker's face, only without the paint, and some green hair.
Now I thought to my self, if he had some white paint on his face, some green hair and a purple suit, and holy moly, we got our self a Joker right there.

Now I'm not basing this only on one movie, because Jared proved his acting skills in few other movies, and he can really pull off some hard characters.

Now I know that people might say "hell no", but I'm sure that not everyone was on board when Heath Ledger was cast in the role, but now, I really don't think there is a person out there that can say that Heath didn't do one hell of a job.

Anyway, I do believe that the Joker should show up in some point. I don't went to see him in Superman vs Batman, but in some point the WB will do a new stand-alone Batman movie, and that movie needs the Joker, and I really think that Jared Leto will be the man for the job.

I agree with Leto being a good actor capable of diverse roles. On the other hand I don't see him as a menacing Joker. Riddler or Two-Face seems in his dominion.

I don't know about him but Troy Baker already voiced Joker in Arkham Origins and everyone agrees that he's a worthy substitute for Mark Hammil. He's got a good look for the Joker and he's an actual live action actor (I think he's only had 2 live action roles but he's done a lot of motion capture which is as hard as being in front of a camera).

I meant as hard as acting in an actual film.

Is he a communist? I don't mean the Stalin version, I mean the version that was supposed to be used before it was bastardised.

Nice idea, I really like this choice and I agree Leto would play the part well. Haven't seen Dallas Buyers Club yet but it looks great, and Leto looks on course for an Oscar nod

LOL Jarde Leto is better as the Riddler.

McConaughey with his charm and overall craziness is a better fit as the joker.

Heck Leo DiCaprio would also be a really good joker given the material.

Whoever takes on the role of the Joker will unfairly be compared to Heath's. I don't know enough about Leto (Fight Club). Judging by the image, he looks like he could do it. I can't imagine the character would be overlooked for long (no disrespect to Heath).

I like Leto for Deadman, just think he'd shoot it out the park, but wouldn't mind him as the Joker; he's got the potential, and is a very underrated actor.

Leto is a good decent actor but i dont think the actor would be suited for The Joker. Leto would be a good choice for Deadman.

I can imagine Sharlto Copley in the role as The Joker.

Leto would be alright, but with the older Batman, we would need an older Joker.

I give you...

Willem Dafoe

for Riddler...

Robin Williams

Wagner Moura, the guy who played Spider in Elysium would in my opinion be an excellent new take on Joker.

@MercwithMouth I was thinking something similar, but was surprised to discover that Leto is actually a year Affleck's senior.

Having said that, I'm sure Leto could do a perfectly competent job, but I don't know that he'd do such a big franchise movie? Seems like the man mostly does independent and fringe stuff.
