So we saw Doomsday in the new Dawn of Justice trailer. Some people said that the movie makers are palying this card far too soon. Some people were dissapointed on the way the character looked and some said that it wasn't his final look. They say that the character will evolve into more comic accurate form during the movies 3rd act, and that may well be the case (though this also said about the Lizard and Goblin of the Amazing Spider-man films, and...yeah no). I however have my own theory.

This is not THE Doomsday from comics. Since the movie seems to be borrowing Doomsdays origins from Justice League Unlimited cartoon, case being that he is created from kryptonian DNA on earth in lab, the question rises; can they make more of him?
You see, I think that this Doomsday is just Lex's first attempt, a prototype if you will. He is not gonna kill Superman (we have whole Justice League movie coming and etc.), and that will make Lex (or his dad, seeing as Eisenberg's chracter has that jr. in the end of his name) angry and he will probably try again. So when will we see this actual Doomsday from the comics that we all know and hate. Well...

Man of Steel 2: Death of Superman

It's obovious at this point that DC wants to keep stakes high with each movie. Superman solo-film's dates haven't even been announced yet, so by time it eventually comes out Supes has already had plenty of adventures in JL and other movies, so this story coming out won't feel rushed. This would be pretty good story for Superman movie since it's some thing new that hasn't been done yet in motion picture (at one point they tried though, like really hard). This could be the movie where we will finally see the actual full powered Doomsday straight out of the comic books, doing the thing he was born to do.

So anyway, this was my thoughts on the future. Ain't no psychic so I might be completely wrong.

I think they should have just done Bizarro.

They should've built up to Doomsday

JLA v LoD

JLA v Doomsday

JLA v Darkseid, if it's safe, because Marvel is all about Marvelseid aka Thanos. If not him, maybe Anti-monitor. I would've built DC around Savage but it's apparent that won't happen since he's CW'd. My JLA knowledge is thin at best

But Supes should die in JLA, not his own, if at all whereas Cap should die in his own, no ifs ands or buts

DerekLake - Agreed, although I think they don't want to retread Man of Steel by having another Kryptonian-like being duke it out with Supes.

It's easier to evolve a character in the comics. It rarely works with repeat villains in movies.

I think doomsday is what is going to unite the entire DCU, because there is no way these 3 can defeat Doomsday alone. JLA part 1 prob deals with the battle and potentially superman dying, which leaves the world in mourning and the JLA Superman-less to take on an even greater foe who is probably Brainiac

They can evolve him but not in the capacity that they did in the comics because that took like thousands of years. Besides that he didn't even evolve to max strength then either. It was revealed in Hunter Prey that he can only evolve beyond that what has killed him prior.
