RUMOR: Metallo The Villain Of BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

Had enough Batman Vs. Superman news yet? Of course not! Well, the latest is more of a rumor, but it's claiming to know which DC villain that actor Callan Mulvey may portray in the Man of Steel sequel!

In the wake of Fast and the Furious actress Gal Gadot landing the Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, there's been quite a handful of news surrounding the production today. Including appearances by several other Justice League members, it's also been reported that the studio is circling Australian actor Callan Mulvey for the movie's villain, whose identity is unknown.

Now according to Think Mcfly Think sources, the role Callan Mulvey is currently being eyed for is none other than Metallo! The supervillain cyborg, whose trademark is his kryptonite power source, has battled both Superman and Batman. Also, he was once a member of the villainous Injustice League against Justice League.

However, the report also claims that Callan Mulvey was once up for the role of Lex Luther, who's been rumored to appear in Batman Vs. Superman for the longest. And as the source speculates, this either indicates that Lex Luther is no longer the villain of Batman Vs. Superman, which could be due to recent script rewrites, or Warner Bros. are considering another actor for that role. Nevertheless, Think Mcfly Think seemingly hit the nail on the head with their Gotham TV series scoop a month before it was confirmed, and they technically were the first to report on Warner Bros. developing a Batman/Superman movie... two years ago. But considering a lot of their scoops have turned out to be only rumors, take this information with the usual grain of salt. But if true, what would you think?


Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, Batman Vs. Superman (currently the working title) is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015!

Metallo has been my choice of villain for the movie since day one. I still think the movie feels crammed and is going to suck but, at least the cinematography and Ben Affleck will be good.

Lex and Metallo will probably both be in the film. In Grant Morrison's Action Comics run and in Geoff John's Superman: Secret Origin, Lex was connected responsible for Metallo's origin, so it'll fit.

The guy rumored to be in the running can only be Metallo, Maxwell Lord or Vandal Savage.

Damn sure as well isn't a Lex Luthor. Still, I refuse to get excited for this movie. Still waiting for Snyder to prove to me it's a Superman sequel and not a Batman movie featuring Superman.

@MrCBM56: Cap, Falcon, The Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Robert Redford would be the only real main characters from what I've understood from footage and details so far. Batroc the leaper is for one scene, I guarantee it. Crossbones would be a secondary character. Arnim Zola is flashback, guarantee it. Agent 13 and Peggy would also be very minor and I don't see Maria Hill having that big of a role. The fact that you brought Marvel up in a DC post is funny, although I've been guilty of it too, hypocrite I am.

Confirmed non-Superman characters: Bruce/Batman, Wonder Woman

And we know it will explore the ramifications of the first movie. Still feels like it's Superman-centric.

@MrCBM56: Iron Man 2 wasn't over crowded. Spider-Man 3 was. Iron Man 2 didn't fully develop their characters and spent more time on Shield, The Avengers, Tony's dads involvement and Tony dying. They tried focusing on too much different things. I just think Batman vs. Superman is getting crowded because this is suppose to be a Superman movie and I feel it'll be DC's Iron Man 2 in the sense that in the end, it's advertising for the big event rather than focusing on the current story. Plus, Wonder Woman being in the mix as well as potentially other characters (if believed to be true) like The Flash, etc it just feels like they are trying to cram in too much so they can play catch up and not do the individual movies. In a way, it's smart because they aren't risking the possibility of losing money. At the same time, I just have a really bad feeling they're just trying to advertise more to Justice League than they are about making a really good movie. Which they need cause Man of Steel? IMO is... eh.

Supes would be weakened by the Kryptonite, it would make sense for Bats to take him since were getting a more physical luthor. And the hint that they are going to reverse engineer kryptonian technology to make a suit of armor, that sounds like Lex.

So we're going get a lame predictable third act team up between the two, film should have been about Batman and Superman clashing heads which culminates in a titanic showdown between the two.

Hearing absolutely nothing on Lex with this film, wouldn't be surprised if Batman takes the "luthor" role of the movie. If the main villain is Metallo, the military will probably end up creating him. I dont see them doing another extraterrestrial threat like Brainiac, though they could make him a computer.

Who says the third act will be a team-up? I would love to see the climax being Batman defeating Superman after almost throughout the whole movie getting over powered by this god.
