Superman Statue Being Erected On BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Set

Earlier today, Bananadoc (via Batman-News.com) went to Pontiac, Michigan to check out the construction of sets for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. There, he found a large statue of Superman being put together, with a large green screen behind it. It is located across the street from the Michigan Motion Picture Studios next to the old GM building which is being converted into LexCorp. Bananadoc also snapped a shot of the LexCorp building (click here), but a blue tarp covered all the signage. Scenes are expected to be filmed there in three days.

BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE - Zack Snyder will direct. It's written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. The film stars: Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent and Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The cast also includes: Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Ma Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince. Will arrive in theaters May 6, 2016.

Are they actually gonna do the Doomsday storyline where they kill off Superman? I remember after Superman sacrifices himself after his fateful fight with Doosmday and a statue is erected in his honour in Metropolis. I just hope it isn't because he "saved" Metropolis in MOS. Pretty cool nonetheless, my interest for this film is slowly growing as more news comes out:)

Pretty cool to see. I hope Snyder doesn't rely too much on green screens and vfx for this movie. Hopefully Affleck will be a nice counterweight to him.

I can't imagine they are building a statue for him after the events of MOS. I love MOS, but it seems the public would be polarized on their opinions of him. Seems like this should be something saved for the end of BvS.

I think Lex, in this movie, will rally the people against Superman for the destruction he caused in MoS. He will use this statue to show how stupid people are for praising the "destroyer of metropolis"
