There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding both Black Adam and Shazam! - Fury of the Gods, and Dwayne Johnson has now shared an Instagram post confirming when he anticipates cameras rolling on his DC Comics movie. As you can see below, he needs to begin work on NBC series Young Rock first, with Black Adam next on his schedule.
"[In] the spring, we’ll shoot the big one - [Black Adam] for the DC Universe," Johnson says below. "All three big productions — all shot here in the state of Georgia."
In related news, Shazam! actor Adam Brody (who played the superpowered Freddy) has told Entertainment Tonight that he's expecting to return to the DC Universe of Fury of the Gods early next year. "Not only do they keep these things under wraps to a certain degree from us, but they certainly keep it under wraps from the public," the actor explained when pushed for details. "So even if I knew much, and I don't, I doubt I would be able to divulge anything."
"But the way I hear it, it sounds like maybe early next year, maybe early this coming year [we'll start production]. And what lies in store, I really don't know. I am waiting like you."
So, things are boding well for both movies, but whether their production schedules overlap for some sort of crossover remains to be seen, even if that's as simple as a post-credits scene.
