BLACK PANTHER: New MCU Book Reveals That Shuri Has Found A Way To Recreate Wakanda's Heart-Shaped Herb

The Wakanda Files was recently released by Marvel, and it confirms that Shuri has found a way to create more Heart-Shaped Herbs which will ensure that the legacy of the Black Panther can live on!

2020 will be the first year without a Marvel Studios film in theaters since 2009, but a new Marvel Cinematic Universe book, The Wakanda Files, is here to help fill the void.

Focusing on what Shuri has been up to in Wakanda these past few years, one big revelation comes in the form of T'Challa's sister having found a way to recreate the Heart-Shaped Herb. Erik Killmonger destroyed them during the events of Black Panther after ingesting one and taking the throne for himself, effectively making T'Challa the final Black Panther after the villain's demise.

Shuri has found a way to create a synthetic version, and is even considering added Vibranium to it.

That would lead to whoever ingests it also gaining the power of that mysterious element, a potential game-changer for the MCU moving forward.

After the tragic death of actor Chadwick Boseman, it's unclear what Marvel Studios has planned for Black Panther 2 and the hero's franchise, but Letitia Wright's Shuri inheriting the mantle isn't outside the realm of possibility. If that's the case, then this tie-in book may have just explained how she is granted the powers of the Black Panther.

If this book is any indication, taking Shuri down that path was always going to be the plan in the MCU.

There is already Vibranium in the herb technically.

Vibranium mutated the herb. The plant life that grew on top of the mound was affected by the radiation.

Why..? Show us in the movie not in a tie in book. This was a big deal in the movie, you shouldn't just fix it off screen.

Is it canon? And will future films even address the point?

What’s the point of even destroying it in the first Black Panther if you’re just going to bring it back??

Felt the same about Thor losing his eye in Ragnarok and casually getting a new eye in Infinity War. Why do it in the first place?

@regularmovieguy - Why have Vader cut off Luke’s hand and then give him an indistinguishable robotic one in the very same movie?

Sometimes it’s all about the moment.

@soberchimera - Yup. Too soon for someone else to take the mantle. As sad as it is to lose a young great talent like Boseman; Black panther is bigger than any actor that portrays him.

I'm heavily anticipating seeing how the franchise moves forward. But for now I'm preparing to be wowed one last time by Boseman in "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom."

This Wakanda Files book sounds pretty interesting to me the more I read about. Definitely wanna read more from it. Should try to get my hands on it.

LOL Black Panther is T'Challa and Ryan Coogler has already written the second movie with T'Challa as The Black Panther.

@Ocelot - It can be re-written. Maybe Ryan and/or Kevin and/or Disney (those who have say-so) don't want T'Challa replaced by another actor.
Movies have been delayed before to get re-written, and there is really nothing stopping them from re-writing it. It doesn't matter if it has been written already or not. The powers that be on this can do what they want from all possible options. And I have no doubt that the powers that be know most will not be happy with replacing Ryan. Those will be big shoes to fill. And, once he's in the Black Panther outfit, it won't matter, because he will still look like the Black Panther.

@LSHF - LOL Ryan Coogler didn't sign onto these movies to write a story about Shurri, he signed on to make a movie about a Black Male lead character called "T'Challa". If they don't recast he will exit and I fully expect that to happen.

@Ocelot - That makes 100% sense.

Recasting is a no go. Has to be someone else taking up the mantle w/ an offscreen death of Tchalla.

Shuri or Mbaku or someone else ... I like the idea of a time jump and Tchalla’s son becoming BP

@CBMFilmJunkie - So you want them to push their most successful solo franchise forward 18-20 canonical years, effectively missing all possible interaction with current characters and villains?

You guys need to stop trying to bench T'Challa out of some missed placed desire to honor Chadwick. If you bench the character youi effectively bench Chad's impact. They have to recast the role and do Chad and T'Challa justice moving forward, that's how you honor him.
