BLACK PANTHER, SUPERGIRL, iZOMBIE & More - Come Check Out This Epic February Preview

February is a traditionally quiet month as far as comic book movies go, but ever since the roaring success of 20th Century Fox's Deadpool in 2016, Valentine's Day weekend has become prime real estate for a number of major blockbusters and this year is no different as Marvel intends on launching Ryan Coogler's Black Panther.

However, while that's undoubtedly the headliner, there's plenty of other fun comic book movie and tv stuff to enjoy throughout the course of these twenty-eight days. And, now that we're all five days into the month, I figured it was just about time to release this special February preview. Check it out below;

10) Marvel's Spider-Man - 5-Part Spider-Island Event (Feb. 4 - Feb. 11)

Marvel's Spider-Man is tackling the Spider-Island storyline this month in an action-packed five-part event that will see our friendly neighborhood wallcrawler team-up with Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, and Black Widow, amongst others to battle his greatest threat yet.

The first two parts aired yesterday, so you do have a little catching up to do if you missed them, and the final three episodes will air on February 11, starting at 8:00 AM.

9) Justice League - Digital HD (February 13)

ARROW

While reviews were better than its predecessor, DC's biggest film ever unfortunately proved to be the most underwhelming superhero movie of the year and was ultimately a major box office disappointment, which, as we've seen over the past several weeks, hasn't been good news for anyone involved.

The Zack Snyder-directed movie finally arrives on Digital HD on February 13th and
while, there's no extended cut this time around, the home video release will feature an exclusive new scene - and rumor has it, that it features Superman (Henry Cavill).

8) Game Night (February 23)

Yes, this isn't a comic book movie... but if you're a DC fan, then you may still want to check it out on February 23rd as Warner Bros. recently tapped Game Night directors, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, to helm the next DC Films solo feature, Flashpoint, which will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen.

Game Night features an all-star cast that includes Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler, Lamorne Morris, Kylie Bunbury, Billy Magnussen, Sharon Horgan, Jeffrey Wright, Jesse Plemons, Danny Huston, Chelsea Peretti, and Michael C. Hall.

7) Annihilation (February 23)

Ex Machina is a tough act to follow, but director Alex Garland will attempt to do just that with his sophomore effort, Annihilation, which has assembled quite the cast with Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, Benedict Wong, and Oscar Isaac.

Not much is known about the film's plot, but it will involve Lena (Portman) and a group of soldiers embarking on a journey into an environmental disaster zone to learn more about what's happened to her husband (Isaac).

6) Black Panther: The Album (February 9)

Get ready for arguably the biggest Marvel movie soundtrack ever as Kendrick Lamar debuts Black Panther: The Album, which features fourteen original tracks - five of which are from Lamar himself.

The album is due out on Friday, but if you go ahead and pre-order now, you'll get instant access to the first three singles, including the recently released "Pray For Me."

5) Thor: Ragnarok - Digital HD (February 20)

ARROW

One week after Justice League debuts on Digital HD, Marvel Studios will release Taika Waititi's critically-acclaimed Thor: Ragnarok on the same platform and it's coming with a ton of awesome special features, including a special director's intro for the movie, a sure-to-be hilarious gag reel, audio commentary, and plenty of deleted scenes.

4) Legends of Tomorrow Returns (February 12)

In one week, the Legends are back and they're bringing a few friends, including John Constantine (Matt Ryan), Citizen Cold (Wentworth Miller),  and Kid-Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), as the threat of Mallus continues to grow stronger and stronger with each passing minute.

While The Flash and Arrow will take mini-hiatuses for the Winter Olympics, DC's Legends of Tomorrow will run uninterrupted until its season finale on April 9th.

3) Supergirl Takes A Vacation (February 5)

Tonight's episode will essentially serve as a midseason finale for the Girl of Steel (Melissa Benoist) as she takes a lengthy hiatus until April 16th. But, fortunately, tonight's hour is shaping up to be quite a doozy as Kara finds herself at odds with not just one Worldkiller, but two - and if the winter finale was any indicator, then this episode may be one of the more brutal of the year.

The episode starts at 8:00 pm EST, so be sure not to miss it!

2) iZombie Returns (February 26)

This show really doesn't get the amount of love it deserves as it's easily one of the best things The CW has to offer. Plus, it has a character of Indian descent as one of the leads, and he isn't just a racial stereotype, so that's always a positive.

iZombie returns for its fourth season on February 26 at 9:00 pm EST and will bring us up to speed with Team Z, which now includes Liv, Ravi, Clive, Major, Peyton, and Blaine (on a provisional basis), as they solve crimes and attempt to navigate life in New Seattle while also trying to find a cure for, you know, the zombification of America.

1) Marvel's Black Panther (February 16)

Black Panther will kick off the comic book movie year and based on the exceedingly positive early reactions, all of us are going to be in for quite the treat as many are claiming that Ryan Coogler and Chadwick Boseman have delivered one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe movies ever.

The film hits theaters February 16 with previews beginning on Thursday night, so make sure you have your tickets already reserved because the King has arrived.

@blackandyellow - Last i watched the Olympics (years ago) me and a few friends ate some Shrooms before hand. The crew (rowing) rowed right out of the tv, and across the living room.
