BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Producer Explains Why The Sequel Has Only ONE Post-Credits Scene

Critics who watched Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at last week's World Premiere reported that they saw only one post-credits scene, and producer Nate Moore has now explained why a second won't be added.

The response to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever from last week's world premiere was overwhelmingly positive, with the sequel praised for being an action-packed, emotional epic.

However, we also heard that the sequel has only one scene in the credits. After the MCU debuts of Eros and Hercules were spoiled by some loud-mouthed journos on social media, many fans wondered if Marvel Studios might be playing it safe, keeping a second scene specifically for when the Black Panther follow-up arrives in theaters.

Unfortunately not!

Talking to Phase Zero, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore explained Marvel Studios' thought process behind including only a mid-credits scene and not the usual post-credits scene as well.

"Obviously, the weight of this movie is a bit different, and the tone of this movie is a bit different, and it felt, especially, once people see the film...we felt the ending was kind of poetic," he explains. "To then go back and say, 'Hey, there’s a tag at the end of the credits,' felt a little disingenuous tonally from what we were doing."

"Much like [Avengers] Endgame didn’t have a tag, this didn’t feel like a movie that needed it."

So, we can probably forget about an Ironheart trailer or Doctor Doom showing up to reveal himself as the mastermind behind the conflict between Wakanda and Atlantis!

Some fans will be disappointed by that, but it sounds like it makes sense within the context of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Amazingly, details about the stinger haven't found their way online over the past week, so it seems critics are being a little bit more respectful with this one. Some have praised it as one of the best extra scenes yet, though, so it should be worth the wait.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released exclusively in theaters on November 11.

“ After the MCU debuts of Eros and Hercules were spoiled by some loud-mouthed journos on social media”

While I can agree that’s also opinion and should not be in a “news” piece.

@TyrantBossMedia - Plus it's quite ironic as well considering Josh couldn't care less about posting spoilers himself.

@TyrantBossMedia - I mean, it did happen though. The fact that it happened isn’t opinion. What’s opinion here? That they are loudmouths? Maybe but the fact remains that journalists said what happened in the post credits, which is in fact spoiling the surprise. I think it’s fair to say that telling people Eros shows up in a post credit scene is a spoiler

@Urubrodi - You are absolutely correct

I'm almost certain Josh spoiled those aspects himself on here, posting a picture of Eros and an article on Hercules without spoilering - just slapping them straight in the thumbnail.

I respect that, but...

@DCfan84 - This got me thinking they did indeed film the Doom scene but scrapped in the end for the reasons he gave above.

@UniqNo - I 100% agree that they did film it and then scrapped it. You're absolutely right, and I respect his decision and vision. This movie will be truly poetic and doesn't need a post credit scene to boost hype.

Well whether there is more than one or not he wasn’t exactly going to say oh yes there’s two more, one with Doom and the other revealing the Fantastic Four cast and bringing back Tony Stark who’s seen talking to Reed Richards was he now 🤦‍♂️

Sounds like a good reason to me. Serve the story first. And as the end of Phase 4, it's fine. (Though without an Avengers film, the end of the Phase doesn't feel as significant, cause we're in new territory.)

I'd be happy with just a mid credit scene. It is usually disappointing to wait til the very end just for some silly useless scene.

After having read the content of the mid credit scene and most of the story of the movie, i think that while it will be a solid 7/10, it won't be as spectacular as it could be with a post-credit scene.

All in all i think that Phase 4 is the weakest phase so far, which is due to the new characters introduced not being as interesting as the phase 1-3 Avengers or upcoming F4 & X-Men and the stories not being as good as they could have been due to some story elements being taken out and being saved for later.

This movie is gonna be so effing stupid. Having a 70ib teenager fighting all these men with superhuman abilities. I DGAF if she has that herb. It’s still so unbelievably dumb to think she could hang

Also Michael Waldron is so overrated. The only good thing that’s come from him is Loki. And I bet season 2 will suck. He’s clearly being overworked. And they quality of the material shows. I didn’t even see doctor strange MOM. And I’ve been a fan since seeing the Incredible Hulk and iron man in theaters in 2008.
Chloe z can take a hike too. What a joke to hire such an inexperienced director for something like the eternals. Like wtf I wonder how hard she had to blow Feige for that.
