BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Unofficial Logline Teases A War Between Atlantis And Wakanda

We're taking this with a pinch of salt, but a logline for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever teases a war between Atlantis and Wakanda that will take centre stage in the upcoming sequel. Read on for details...

It was recently confirmed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has started production in Atlanta, Georgia, and that means we have a new logline courtesy of Production Weekly (via The DisInsider).

As always, this isn't something that's been officially released by Marvel Studios, and the site has a spotty track record when it comes to this sort of thing. Sometimes, they'll share accurate synopses, and occasionally...well, they'll just copy and paste some information from a character's Wikipedia page!

This makes for interesting reading, though, and points to the Black Panther sequel featuring an Atlantis vs. Wakanda war.

"Both Wakanda and Atlantis are hidden civilizations with advanced technology and increased militaristic abilities that decided to separate themselves from the rest of the world for their own safety, and in a way, out of fear," the logline reads. "Wakanda feared that their technology would be abused. Atlantis feared that surface dwellers would come and desecrate the mythical city just as they did so many years ago. And yet their fears escalate even further when these two once-hidden nations clash with each other."

 "Wakanda and Atlantis have a shockingly intertwined history. Wakanda is the only county in the world with access to Vibranium. However, rumours of its power spread throughout the world, and Namor’s human father was sent searching for this rare material in Antarctica..."

Intriguing stuff, eh?

Charles Murphy is also claiming to have learned that Namor, Namora, and Attuma are all set to appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, so it appears Marvel Studios is embracing the Marvel Universe's version of Atlantis (it'll be fun to see how that differs to the Aquaman franchise).

Following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman, we don't know who will suit up as Black Panther to battle Namor, but Letitia Wright's Shuri remains one of the most likely candidates.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released on July 8, 2022.

If this is true great. But what I'm really happy about and thankful that Kevin Feige is in charge is that Marvel has taken their time in introducing the character of Namor. They haven't rush him out just to meet what DC has done with Aquaman. Not sure this scenario will really happen, but if so can't wait to see it and learn who they cast as Namor, not to mention exactly who will be the person to go toe to toe with him.

@Mugens - nah he just rushed to dump
Tchalla instead. Kevin Feige single handedly buried this sequel, causing Coogler to rewrite the damn thing.

@BlackBeltJones -
T'Challa in the first movie prevented a war. I'd rather not have whoever takes up the mantle now suddenly decide to take them into a war with Atlantis, especially over the abundant Vibranium that they are doing effectively nothing with and already said they would share with the world at the end of Black Panther.

@Scarilian - given the right circumstances, if dire, a war could still be provoked.

Especially if Vibranium is now up for grabs and being shared. All the more reason to try and usurp it really.

@Scarilian - if the log line is accurate Namor’s father could’ve been killed for trespassing and that’s what starts the war. Wakanda was pretty strict on their outsider laws in the past especially after they were robbed by Klaw

@Scarilian - T'Challa went to war in IW and Endgame... the torch has already been lit for war being in their ethos.

Sure Atlantis can be in it, but I wonder how much of this movie will actually focus on anything that's not Wakanda.

Should have just recasted the role

Wakanda always seems to be at war.

@Waddles -
Except T'Challa solved that in the first movie, he was going to offer resources and tech to everyone... did they just forget that?

If they go to war over the massively abundant amount of Vibranium they have, that'd be really stupid.

Namor. One of my favourite characters. Please be true.

I can imagine Namora as a conspirator. If M'Baku is an ally of Black Panther, she could be a traitor.

Eiza Gonzalez to play Namora.

Attuma could be a loyal general until he feels betrayed when Namor makes peace with Wakanda.

Most likely it's going to be Namora manipulating Namor who eventually decides to side with Wakanda.

@Repian - Good idea, replace Attuma with Krang though and save Attuma for a Namor solo movie.

Feige can't make a Namor solo movie.

Definitely excited to hear that the two kingdoms will clash, but I just wish that they both had a king. I’m sure that Marvel will make a great film regardless.

Cats don't like water, and full grown tuna in 20-foot waves (I'm assuming it's off the coast of South Africa), can be lethal.

I do not like the sound of that at all.
