Originally slated to appear on the BET Network, the new Black Panther animated "motion comic" series will debut June 23 on the following web networks: iTunes, Xbox Live, Microsoft Zune, and the PlayStation Network.

This will be a 12 week serial titled Black Panther: Who is the Black Panther? stars Djimon Hounsou as T'Challa/Black Panther. The series also has the voice talents of Kerry Washington, Jill Scott, Alfre Woodard and Carl Lumbly.

A shorter trailer was released back in the beginning of the year. There is now a longer one with some pretty cool cameos.






DogsOfWar-I was wondering what ever happened to this show. Although I am not a big fan of "motion comics" this series intrigues me with a great cast and many Marvel character cameos.

the song got my attention. why couldn't they do a cartoon movie or a live action movie? than a comic movie with voices coming out of mouth and the character moving in slow motion.

I wasn't sure in the beginning, but now I'm blown away. it looks amazing. The animation looks pretty good. Different but good.

I cannot stand the comic in motion that Marvel has been putting out. Just make an amazing animated movie and all will be well.

I saw the episode where an earlier Black Panther encounters Captain America.
The animation was sh*t,and Cap was an arrogant prick, whose voice sounded like a wolverine wannabe. It really wasn't that good, and I don't think it would've lasted one season in the US. Just my thoughts.

hehe what a coincidence! i just finished watching the first 6 episodes less than 5 minutes ago! (only six have been produced so far). it was pretty good. it is a motion comic but i think that goes for the first 6 episodes only. after that there will be proper animation. you can download it via torrent all of you outside australia (which must be a lot of you, including myself...)

I agree with most here. Good idea, but just make it a cartoon, not a motion comic.

Djimon Hounsou would be a great choice for the The Black Panther, if he were to make a cameo in the Avengers movie. Also, Will Smith....hold on don't say anything yet. He's a great actor and would do his research to get the voice and character up to standards

AsianAvenger: While Hounsou would be an awesome live-action Black Panther, he's a little long in the tooth at 46. Around his Gladiator days, though? For sure, he was ideal.

I am also not a fan of motion comics. They should have just made a totally animated series.

Unfortunately, Honsou is nearing 50, and is way too old for the role.Last time I heard, they were eying Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.I personally would have liked Idris Elba, but they went and used him in Thor.

This looked crappy like the Watchmen motion "Black Fraighter " or something like that.. yeah I know I spelt it wrong.

I wouldn't buy it on DVD..unless I could get it for 5 bucks.
Whatever happend to the Anime style Wolverine and Ironman anime that marvel was doing or supposed to do in like the end of 08-early 09. I saw it on the Scifi website and now nothing .

What they need to do is Juggernaut anime or cartoon.. I think thta would be awesome.

I absolutely hate all of John Romita Jr's artwork. I wasn't too fond of his dads stuff either. I agree with some of the other posters, either let the Disney animators do this or leave it the hell alone.

Has anyone mention about passing of great comic artist Al Williamson on June 12? I loved his Star Wars and Flash Gordon newspaper strips. He was a legend... RIP Mr. Williamson, you were truly one of the best.

Uhh, what makes it a motion comic and not an animated series? I'm comparing to the Watchmen motion comic and they're not really alike.
