As of right now, there's no word on whether Disney is planning to delay the release of
Black Widow, so the marketing campaign continues in earnest. That includes a cover story for Empire Magazine and, as you can see below, Scarlett Johansson is looking truly mighty in her new white gear.
The second cover is illustrated by Eisner award-winning comic book artist Jen Bartel.
Based on past experience, there won't be much in this issue that we haven't heard before (Empire tends to get these exclusives late in the day after we've already read the information enclosed elsewhere), but these covers are undeniably cool, and we'll hopefully get at least a few new stills too.
Set between the events of
Captain America: Civil War and
Avengers: Infinity War,
Black Widow has really started gaining the attention of even the most sceptical fans in recent weeks, so it would definitely be disastrous for the Coronavirus to force a delay similar to what's happened to
Mulan.
Black Widow will be a hit whatever happens, of course, but the marketing spend has likely been used up by this point, so promoting it six months from now will cause Disney to lose money.
