BLACK WIDOW: Lorne Balfe Replaces Alexandre Desplat As The Marvel Movie's Composer

Black Widow still doesn't have a new release date, but some big changes behind the scenes have clearly been made which is clear from the news that Mission: Impossible - Fallout's Lorne Balfe is composing.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water) had signed on to serve as Black Widow's composer. That news excited fans, but something has clearly changed, as the reliable folks over at Film Music Reporter have revealed the movie's new composer!

Now, Lorne Balfe has reportedly been scoring the film, and he has an impressive track record which includes movies like The LEGO Batman Movie, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and Bad Boys For Life.

Based on his work on those films, Black Widow is still going to sound awesome, and this certainly isn't any sort of cause for concern (it's something which happens a surprising amount on blockbusters like these).

As we mentioned above, the Marvel Studios movie still doesn't have a new release date, and with Sony pushing the likes of Morbius and Uncharted back to 2021, it's looking likely that Disney could do the same with Natasha Romanoff's origin story. The downside to that, of course, is it will probably mean delaying everything else in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for continuity's sake!

Everything is pretty uncertain right now, of course, but there are those who remain convinced that Marvel Studios will ultimately decide to release Black Widow on Digital or Disney+.

We'll keep you guys updated.
