Oscar-winning actress and star of Marvel's Black Panther says filming the fight scenes for the upcoming superhero movie was quite the challenge.

While playing Fishing For Answers with The Hollywood Reporter, Nyong'o was asked about the toughest stunt she had to perform during filming. Nyong'o said the following:

"Oh man, there were quite a few...I had to scissor this guy with my legs, so like basically jump up and throw my legs forward and wrap my legs around his waist and take him down. That was quite hard to learn."

Nyong'o plays Nakia, a globe-trotting Wakandan spy who keeps the King informed and the country safe. Based on Nyong'o's answer, Nakia will have a somewhat similar fighting style to Black Widow.

I am very hyped for this and really hope the fight scenes and hand-to-hand combat is on par with TWS/CW's ones.

@kylo0607 - Chadwick Boseman had to learn 12 different martial arts, and Michael B. Jordan said that each punch feel and look like they have a dialogue between them. That's what made the TWS fight scenes so good in my opinion. They were situational and each character had a distinct fighting style. I'm sure this movie might actually surpass TWS in fight scenes. It'll definitely pass CW too. Ryan Coogler unlike the Russos (and no slight to them) actually knows how to shoot fight scenes in a way that you're sucked in, and can feel the action and see it properly.

@BlindWedjat - not sure imo many movies will surpass tws fight scenes even with shaky cam .... i felt it while while watching like cap was seriously fighting for his life against bucky .....

but i do really hope and can see if BP is up there

@knocturnalzen10 - I get what you mean and it seems as though Black Panther has gone for a mix between Bond (Daniel Craig Bond obviously), Creed, and Kingsman, which are very slick and clean but still intense and kinetic, as opposed to the very Jason Bourne and The Raid inspired fight scenes of TWS, which are very gritty, tense, and chaotic.

If anything, they'll be great but for different reasons.

Apparently Lupita had to learn Judo, Silat, Jiujutsu and some other martial arts too, which all sounds really cool. Can't wait to see her Nakia in action

@sKeemAn - Actually the rumor was that Sony was wanting Spike Lee to direct a Nightwatch movie. I’m betting they are just waiting on Black Panther to destroy at the box office and then they’ll immediately announce the movie.
