The first reactions to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been overwhelmingly positive, and it sounds like we're in store for something really special next month. While fans are understandably excited to see how the sequel deals with the legacy of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, we can also look forward to two huge MCU introductions.
We are, of course, referring to Namor the Submariner and Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart.
In the clips below, we see two key introductory scenes for the characters, with the first featuring a moment we're sure comic book fans will appreciate. It's already been confirmed that the MCU's take on the Atlantean anti-hero will be called "K'uk'ulkan," tying into his Aztec history, but he tells Queen Ramonda here that his enemies call him "Namor."
It's a very cool moment, and one we're sure will play even better on the big screen. Namor sounds like a highlight in the Black Panther sequel, and certainly looks formidable based on what we've seen in the TV spots and trailers.
As for Ironheart, while she's not suited up, she does find herself coming to blows with Okoye when she and Shuri attempt to convince the teenager to accompany them to Wakanda.
Check out these new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever clips below.
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.
As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of Talokan, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livinalli.
