BLACK WIDOW Movie Rumored To Be Marvel Studios' First R-Rated Release
This is definitely unexpected but a new rumour is doing the rounds which indicates that the upcoming Black Widow movie starring Scarlett Johansson could end up with...an R-Rating?! Read on for details.
Black Widow is set to be released next year and production is expected to begin soon. With that in mind, we should start getting some casting news before long but one very interesting rumour has now started doing the rounds courtesy of That Hashtag Show's Charles Murphy (who also got people talking this week when he shed some light on plans for Loki on Disney+).
"When I first heard they were developing the Black Widow film, I also heard they were discussing whether or not to make it Marvel Studios first R-rated film," he reveals.
Unfortunately, as intriguing as this would be, I can't imagine it ever happening. While Black Widow could benefit from an R-Rating, Disney would be closing the door on young girls being able to watch the female-led superhero movie, while it's no secret that the character - played by Scarlett Johansson - shifts merchandise.
An R-Rating would greatly impact both of those things and that's why Black Widow will more than likely end up being PG-13, just like every other Marvel Studios release.
Would you guys like to see this standalone adventure for the hero receive an R-Rating next year?
