Can Captain America 2 handle a July 4th open instead?

Disney has recently cleared space in it's release schedule leaving the whopping 7/4 weekend open. Why not move Cap 2 there?

Scott Mendelson over at Forbes.com raises a good question. Why not move the Captain America: The Winter Soldier open back a few months to July 4th weekend, 2014? Disney's "Maleficent", starring Angelina Jolie, has been moved from that weekend, leaving only a few low-profile comedies. Captain America 2 is chock full of acting talent, directorial skill and dedication, and potential. Could it not plant the stake in the most patriotic weekend on the American Calendar, for effect? Could you stand the wait? Is it too risky? Read the Forbes.com article and comment below. Personally, I think it could do well there, even with Fast 7 opening a week later. As well as this film is trending, Disney may need to take the kid gloves off and let it fly.
