CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER Set Photos Reveal A First Look At Anthony Mackie's Return As Sam Wilson

The first set photos from Captain America: New World Order have found their way online, and they offer a first look at Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson...minus his costume and shield! Check them out here...

In Avengers: Endgame's closing moments, the elderly Steve Rogers (who had spent decades in the past after finally getting his happy ending with Peggy Carter) gave his shield, and the Captain America mantle, to Sam Wilson.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier showed the hero struggling with that burden, though he'd later realise he was the right person to pick up where Steve left off. We only got a glimpse of what that will mean for the MCU during the finale, but Captain America: New World Order is going to fully put the spotlight on the MCU's newest Star Spangled Avenger.

Cameras have literally just started rolling on the movie and, thanks to Just Jared, we have a first look at Anthony Mackie on set as Sam.

These shots, taken in Atlanta, Georgia, don't reveal much but this hopefully means we'll get to see a lot more from the movie in the weeks and months ahead. Rumour has it Captain America is getting a new costume, and while seeing that in set photos for the first time wouldn't be ideal, it would give us all some exciting new MCU content to discuss!

It's recently been reported that some of Captain America: New World Order will also be shot in Washington D.C., no huge shock when Harrison Ford is playing President Thaddeus Ross.

Remember, he's no fan of the "heroes" who defied the Sokovia Accords, and he probably won't want Sam serving as Captain America in place of John Walker. Throw The Leader into the mix, however, and we can't help but wonder whether we'll see the President transform into Red Hulk in order to take matters into his own hands.

Captain America: New World Order is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.

I hope they tone down the costume a bit like they did Steve’s for his movies after The Avengers.

@JonAwesome - My thoughts exactly. His suit was waaaay too much in FaTWS.

@Fogs -

Yeah…looked super cheesy.

Give my human-no powers dude- a helmet.

You think iron man would be flying around with out one?
Vigor
Vigor - 3/21/2023, 3:28 PM
@HulkisHoly - helmet won't save him at his speed and that height, from dying
It would be just to keep his teeth contained so they can identify him

@Vigor - Are there any other Black Falcons? No. So no need to keep his teeth contained, he's easy to identify.

@HulkisHoly - I still can't believe they went with the idea "nah I don't need super powers, I'll just wear a power ranger suit and fly around, thanks"

@Usernametaken - Maybe that's what the new film will tackle? Let's give it a chance. Marvel has been pretty decent with it's storytelling and tackling audience concerns. She-Hulk was so self aware. It was impressive how the writers knew what would be a problem amongst certain hate groups. And those very hate groups were very vocal about how they were portrayed.

@SonOfAGif - I don't understand what you mean by She-hulk/hate group thing.

As for cap, the point of Falcon and the Winter Solder was already to tackle all of this. So they already made their choices.

I honestly was hoping for either of the two heroes to come out as a worthy successor for Rogers, a hero that can stand toe to toe with OG cap. But it all went down to Falcon basically saying "I don't need superpowers, I'm worthy of the shield because I'm black, and the world needs black superheroes"

Why do they always have to make everything about race, when all we need these days is to rally behind good characters regardless of their skin color. Talk about beating a dead horse at this point. Does every black character needs to have a struggling story about being black? Because it's starting to look like that's the only kind of identity available for an afro-american.

And that suit... They should just go back to the civil war one with some modification.

So well, you say the film will tackle this, but it looks like the movie will have to retcon that mediocre TVshow.

I have little faith in this movie with the writers and director simply becuz TFATWS was sooo bad, which sucks cuz i was sooo excited for this. I hope i'm wrong and this turns out good... i want it to be good... but i feel like it's over stuffed. only time will tell

@MotherGooseUPus - IMO the series had its moments. But yeah, the whole Flag Smashers thing was boring AF.

@Fogs - the Wakandans were bad ace on that movie
Fogs

@TheWalkingCuban - My highlights would be Bucky, which I cared about and was a likeable guy, and Isaiah Bradley - very powerful acting there.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 3/21/2023, 3:28 PM
@Fogs - I felt like Bucky did not earn the bar fight win. Bradley felt like the show could’ve been an episode or 2 shorter, but nah let’s shoehorn the Tuskegee super soldier
Vigor
Vigor - 3/21/2023, 3:30 PM
@Fogs - flag smashers and the clandestines can go get fisted

But I enjoyed the show otherwise

@MotherGooseUPus - like with most D+ show, it could have been a good 2hour movie, but a boring 5hours TV show.

@TheWalkingCuban - I was only looking forward to Isaiah Bradley...hopefully, we can see a glimpse of him as unofficial Captain America back in Korean War against Winter Soldier

@solskulldeath - hopefully. I couldn’t stand him, but if you like then sure.

The only show I will rewatch aside from WandaVision, one problem though. I have to pay for Disney+. That’s not happening for a while.
Fogs
Fogs - 3/21/2023, 2:59 PM
@TheWalkingCuban - Gotta say even if there are like 2 or 3 D+ shows I liked I'm not really in the mood for any rewatch. Maybe some specific scenes.

Vigor

@Fogs - I just rewatched the finale for hawkeye, FATWS, And loki

Since the most happens during the finals, I was thorough amused watching them after all this time. Especially nice seeing Jonathan Majors again

But also how significantly yelena is involved in Hawkeyes final two episodes.
Fogs
Fogs - 3/21/2023, 3:56 PM
@Vigor - I couldn't stand Hawkeye's finale. It was Boba Fett level badly written IMO.
