How Many Deleted Scenes Will We See On The CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Blu-ray?
We're getting an R-Rated extended "Ultimate" cut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice later this year, but should we also expect to see a lengthier version of this movie? Hit the jump for details...
We already know that The Wasp was cut from Captain America: Civil War before shooting even began, but in a movie this massive, there has to be a bunch of other deleted scenes they actually shot which didn't quite make the final cut, right? Unfortunately, it doesn't sound as if that will be the case! Talking to ComicBook.com, Anthony Russo said: "We work very well with our writers Markus and McFeely, the writers. We work very hard with them on the script before we shoot. That time on set is so precious. It kills us to shoot anything that’s not gonna end up in the movie so we try to have a very, very, very tight script going into the film and so there is a couple things but they’re not big things."
So, that's probably a no to any sort of extended cut then (hardly a surprise seeing as Marvel doesn't do those), but exactly how many minutes of footage will we end up seeing when it comes to deleted scenes? Joe offered up at least a fairly vague idea about that by adding: "The first cut of the movie was about two hours and forty one minutes and this new cut is two hours and twenty eight minutes. So, not much was cut out of the film. There was a scene between Natasha and T’Challa at the German Ops Center, halfway through the movie when he was sitting in that room. Cap and Falcon had been isolated in the other conference room. We didn’t feel like it was moving the story telling forward and they had already had a scene so it felt repetitive so it was something we excised from the movie."
So, there's nothing major which didn't make the final cut by the sound of it, but before we go getting too excited about seeing deleted scenes, Captain America: Civil War needs to hurry up and get here!
