The Hashtag Show (who dropped those Iron Fist character descriptions) have a new report up about Captain America: Civil War, and if accurate, this movie really is going to shake Phase 3 up in a huge way. While the movie kicks off with the funeral of Peggy Carter - something we've known about for ages - it's going to end with one for Steve Rogers. Apparently, he makes a deal with the government for the freedom of his allies in exchange for him handing himself over, but he's killed just like in the epilogue for the Civil War comic book. Here's where things get really interesting:

Three versions of the same scene have been shot, with Sebastian Stan (Bucky), Anthony Mackie (The Falcon), and Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter) all making their intentions to take over the mantle of Captain America clear. Obviously only one of these will be used, and Marvel likely did this to stop the identity of the next Cap leaking. Common sense says that Captain America: Civil War will follow the comics by picking Bucky, but there are two very interesting options there which could be explored instead. We'll just have to wait and see whether or not this ends up being true...

Yep, wrong Carter, and yea, I'll believe it when I see it. Pretty sure he still has a contract. Doubt they'd kill him before its up.

I don't believe it. I have to say though, I would like to see the movie end with Sharon, Sam and Bucky picking up the shield at the same time. Maybe have them all become the new Captain America in the future?

They could have Sam as Captain America for Avengers-related things. Sharon for secret government missions (maybe? depends on the outcome of the movie and their relation to the government). And have Bucky do his own mysterious secret missions out there.

Don't buy it, mainly because Evans is signed to do Infinity War Part 1 and 2.

@Th0rOdinson I think their "main guy" will eventually be Paul Rudd or Tom Holland. I would love to see Benedict Cumberbatch becoming the "new Robert Downey Jr." in the MCU.

I hope it isn't true. I want to see Steve Rogers lead the Avengers against Thanos. More than likely this is fake...or SR does "die" and comes back in IW part 2.

Not sure how I feel about all this. Didn't Chris say he was in both IW movies? Marvel would have serious balls killing off Steve. We'll see.

I think you mean Peggy Carter unless you also think a corpse will be taking up the role as Cap.

Also it's El Maybe so I'm not taking this seriously at all.

I'll actually be kind of disappointed if he doesn't die. Not only is that essential to the Civil War story, but it would also be a great, dramatic moment that would make it more than just the regular cbm.
