Possible Details On 'Spider-Man''s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Tech

In the Marvel Civil War comics, Tony Stark provides Peter Parker with his Iron Spider armor to aid him in his battles against Cap and his anti-registration allies - but that may get a slight tweak for the Captain America: Civil War movie! Possible SPOILER after the jump...

For various reasons, Marvel's Captain America: Civil War movie will only be loosely based on Mark Millar's source material, but there will still be certain elements that are sure to carry over. One such element many fans have been hoping for was Spider-Man's awesome Iron Spider costume that Tony Stark makes for him in the comics - but those fans might be in for some disappointment.

According to Latino Review, the Iron Spider armor won't be making an appearance - but Stark will be responsible for creating Peter Parker's web shooters! Apparently when Parker is first introduced he'll be crawling around the city in that home-made costume we've heard about, but later on in the movie Iron Man offers him an upgrade, starting with some souped up webbing and the promise of more "hero ready" suits.

In the comics Spidey ditches Stark's tech when he switches sides and joins Cap's team, reverting to his traditional costume. Whether things play out that way in the movie remains to be seen, but it's a safe bet Parker will sport at least a couple of different outfits one way or the other.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.

It would be too soon for the Iron Spider. Hopefully we see that on film some day.

I get a little nutty about following the source material, but I think for the MCU it works and I actually kind of like it.

Would have been nice to see the Iron Spider armor. maybe we'll see it in blueprints or something before he switches back to Cap's side.

He will have a homemade outfit in the beginning.

Tony will be responsible for creating his web shooters

He also MAY give him a traditional Spidey costume.

But Iron Spider will be saved for Infinity Wars, and rightly so.

Guarantee it.

Without Iron Man, Spider-Man would just be some asshole crawling up walls wearing pajamas. Makes sense.

Love Stark and Downey. But why does he have to be responsible in some way for so many things in the MCU? Spider-Man shouldn't need him to build his web-shooters. Kills some of the ingenuity of the character.

Literally one of the only things TASM 1 did right was having Peter construct the web shooters himself...though even that was screwed up with the Oscorp garbage. Still, I'd at least hope Stark only improves Peter's tech, rather than actually building it for him from scratch, like Doom said.

Sooooo, I'm guessing they might not be making Peter Parker out to be a boy genius then....

People will whine about it, but Stark's involvement actually makes a ton of sense. Look at it from an MCU Peter Parker's perspective - he's seen all these heroes on TV, so it stands to reason that he'd REALLY look up to a billionaire playboy, who also happens to be a genius and a superhero. If I were him, I'd be first in line to get Stark to help me out however he can.

I imagine once Civil War gets started though, Parker will see how messed up everything is and go over to Cap's side. I mean, Cap was a nerdy, scrawny kid from Brooklyn who happens to be a superhero with a heart of gold. I'm sure the MCU Parker can see the appeal in that.

The homemade suit is fine but Stark making Peters web shooters would be stupid.

@Gusto

Same here. It made logical sense that, since his body was transformed with the power and abilities of a spider, the shooters would be organic as well.

I think Raimi nailed that.

Well can't be swinging off silly string can he now?!

And his ass cannot be webshooters either.

Kind of makes sense, I mean it really didn't make a whole lot of sense in the early comics that he was smart enough to create these web shooters yet became a photographer for the Daily Bugle.

That being said I would prefer Peter make the shooters he's suppose to be smart not Tony Stark or Reed Richards smart but smart.
