SPOILERS: Here's How Secret Identities Factor Into CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

What will be the driving force of the conflict between Captain America and Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War next year? Well, a new report claims to reveal what role the secret identities of the heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to play in the movie...

Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Civil War comic book revolved around secret identities and heroes being forced to share those with the government. The Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't feature a lot of characters whose identities are unknown to either them or the public, so it makes sense that that won't be the driving force of the Superhuman Registration Act in Captain America: Civil War next year. Well, according to Birth.Movies.Death, "There is no Registration Act. There are Accords, a global move to govern the supeheroes...many of the world's governments are concerned about a unilateral super-powered strike force that answers to no one now that SHIELD has been destroyed The divide between Captain America and Iron Man boils down to that famous Latin quote that gave us one of the best comic book stories ever: Who watches the watchmen?"

That makes sense, but I find it hard to believe that the topic of secret identities won't be addressed at all. After all, Hawkeye likely doesn't want to be registered because his family - kept hidden by S.H.I.E.L.D. - will become puclic knowledge if that happens, while Spider-Man has always been wary of letting others know who's beneath the mask because of the risk that poses to his family and friends. The main driving force of the conflict though will be, "Should superheroes be free to do as they please, ubermensch inflicting their will on the world? Should superheroes be bound by the whims and changing winds of politics, unable to help people simply because a dictator who has a place on the UN Security Council doesn't want anyone interfering in his human rights abuses? Tony Stark who has become increasingly aware of his responsibility to the world and Steve Rogers who has seen everything he believed in undermined when SHIELD was revealed to be a Hydra front." What do you guys think of these possible details? Let us know below...

I'm sure they'll make it work.
In Marvel we trust.

Always figured it had to be something along these lines. Secret identities aren't really a thing beyond Hawkeye's family, and much of Widow's past was disclosed to the public already. Plus, I don't think the MCU is really populated enough for such a massive skirmish. This is more of a "What should we use the Avengers for?" battle.

At first anti-authority Stark sided with registration made little sense to me, but they're really showing that the seeds for this have been pretty cleverly planted. He's starting to see a bigger picture. And honestly, I think this makes more sense for Cap than the original Civil War. Captain America has always been more about the American Ideal than the government, and I think in the face of being an actual tool of political parties, he'll be against the USA every time.

This movie will ask some heavy questions about power and superheroes, which is gonna be interesting going up against DC movies, since those comics are more traditionally about that.

Sounds good to me.
Although I'm sure secret identities will play a part.

Why would secret identities be addressed? All the Avengers' identities are well known, Ant-Man as well. Spider-Man is probably some urban legend at the moment.

Really wishing that the Netflix characters would be in this. Or better yet, that they had waited a few years. Civil War has to be MASSIVE.

Yeah, the secret identities thing don't really make a lot of sense on the MCU when you think about it. Let's see.

Why would Devin faraci write this? It is pretty much everything we already knew..............ofcourse there is no secret identity stuff, I thought we cleared that up, like what, a month after this film was announced.

I've been looking at your gif for like a minute straight and it looks like Bucky is riding cap, and I don't mean in a buddy-buddy sort of way.

It's pretty hilarious that BvS and Civil War are going to have huge thematic overlap.

Two iconic heroes on opposite sides of ideologies clash.
The world is torn between those who love the heroes and those who fear them.
The government wants them to reveal their identities and work for the them.
Introducing a royal superhero from an exotic, hidden land who joins the protagonists as they band together to fight a greater evil.

It's a good thing WB/DC moved their film ahead of May 6; looking pretty genius now that I think about it.

There is no Registration Act.

Is that the entire point of the Civil War comic?

Answer: Yes. Yes it was.

But it's Marvel and they can do no wrong.

So, that Marvel Creative Committee?

According to Disney sources, these are the movies they influenced most:

GOTG, Avengers, Captain America 1&2.

These are the movies they got shut out of:

IM 2&3, AOU.

These are the ones they had limited influence on:

Thor 1&2, Hulk, Ant-Man.

All this is on Bleeding Cool.

That will make somewhat sense than secret identity issue. But it still doesn't seem like a conflict of ideologies but a situational conflict.

Meh, more interested in Ant-Man and Cap reuniting with Bucky than the whole Iron Man Vs. Cap thing. I'm sure Bucky does play a major role in the actual conflict due to him killing Stark's parents and Cap not allowing to call Stark due to the 'accords' in the Ant-Man end-credits

@Rulk,

I don't think college is gonna keep young adults from seeing this movie as many times as they want.

And things don't happen until they do.

I was worried about this. I wish they would've waited a bit for this movie to make it more massive and they should've had more secret identities.
