Vogel Has Fingers Crossed For Captain America Role

Mike Vogel, on the set of "She's Out Of My League" had a few words to say about his upcoming Captain America screen test.

Mike Vogel told HITFLIX "I'm trying not to jinx it," referring to his upcoming First Avenger screen test. "So I don't want to talk about it too much."

Lindsay Sloane his costar in "She's Out Of My League" crossed both fingers and said "We're all going to be walking around this week like this."


Hawksblueyes: I think he looks more like Cap should look than John Krasinski, but I'm not familiar with his acting.

I still get the feeling that any of the so called "contenders" for the role will leave Cap looking like he does in this picture.



I hope I'm wrong.

I didn't like Cloverfield, and Vogel literally did nothing except get owned by the monster in the first 35 minutes, so I can't say I've been impressed by his acting. Obviously he had a small role, but still, I don't know.

@Shaman he needs to prove he doesnt suck first because he hasnt done anything to make me even consider him as hawkeye supernatural sucks

He really doesn't care what you as an individual think of his talent. PLENTY of people are campaigning for him to be Cap cause in the general public's eye, he doesn't suck. It's no wonder why he's winning every single fan poll for the role he's actually a part of. But to each's own, you have your fave, i have mine.

Well, at least he looks the part more than Krasinski! I loved Cloverfield but honestly cant remember this guy!

I hate to break it to you guys but I read an article earlier that said Supernatural was not going to release Ackles or work with him to shoot Cap. The SN producers said take Ackles off the list.

Personaly I don't get that, if I was Ackles I would tell them to get screwed.

Mike Vogel has already worked with Paramount with Cloverfield and She's Out of My League. We can say he's in contract with the company in a way.
The other actors of the list haven't worked with this company.
So, maybe it's the future Cap..

Mike Vogel was apparentl also J.J. Abrams' second choice to play Captain Kirk after Chris Pine. So I'd be willing to bet he's a pretty damn good actor!

Marvel should just fork out some $$$$ and get Leo Dicaprio...with all the bad buzz going around this flick they need a positive. Leo is one of a handful of "global" actors that can fill theatre seats here and overseas!

I can think of a good actor. It is hard to find someone to fit the part of Captain America. What about the actor David Conrad, who plays the EMT husband of Jennifer Love Hewitt on the show the Ghost Whisperer? Do you think he could be up for the task?



I am just saying. If it came down to it. Special Effects can do anything these days.

He is believable on screen. He has stage presence. He has masculinity. He comes off as a guy's "Guy". Just wanted to put this choice out there. I don't care what the official picks were.

And no Leo Decapitation. Marvel might as well shoot themselves in the foot.

@Scorpio- I've seen that guy act and I agree that hes a believable actor but you're seriously suggesting him for the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America?
1. He looks nothing like Cap.
2. He's not in the right age bracket.
3. Leo is a better actor, looks more like Cap than him, and would actually do well in the role even though face-wise[mostly around the eyes] he doesn't look the part.
