Last week, I posted a story about some new Captain America: The First Avenger filming locations. One of these was Albert Dock in Liverpool where it was rumoured that they'd be doing a scene including a submarine. A few days later I recieved an email from Liam, a resident of the city, who lives in that area.
He shared a fair bit of interesting information with me. The first bit unfortunately sheds some doubt on them using a submarine in the area which many of us speculated could have something to do with Namor or the discovery of Bucky's body by the Russians. Here's what he had to say: "Albert Dock has been very much contemporized over the year...you’d be able to see the shop fronts and if they use the actual river you face either the sand logged side or the side where you can see all the oil boats."
Of course, CGI can deal with these sorts of issues but it certaintly sounds like they'd have their work cut out for them if they decided to film there. However, the most interesting part of the information that was sent to me was this:
"I live on Princes dock which is two minutes away from Albert Dock and even now at half nine on a Sunday morning there’s a small crew filming two people in what looks like WW2 attire."
Although he pointed out that they didnt have any sort of "Hollywood" type equipment, this could have still been a crew linked with the Marvel Studios movie filming either a minor scene that didnt require a huge amount of workers or doing camera tests for when Joe Johnston and the rest all head there in September as I recently reported. After all, it seems a little coincidental that actors dressed in WWII garb would be there so soon before the blockbuster films in the same location!
