Marvel Says NO ONE's Cast for Captain America Yet!

Along with Marvel confirming the delay false with SuperHeroHype. IGN has received the same word, and they no one yet has currently been cast!

Directly from IGN...

IGN was advised by a Marvel spokesman today that the rumors are entirely untrue, that Johnston remains aboard to direct and principal photography has not been delayed. Of course, short of a press release declaring otherwise, that's exactly what the studio would be expected to say. We were also advised that no one has been cast as Cap yet and thus no deals have been made.

So this should also put the John Krasinski rumor on hold...for now. But I'd like to point that the list of actors to screen-test for the role, was in fact only a "Wish List", not folks in the running. So there you have it. I know this should makes some folks happy...for now.

@TonyDark I think they are fibbing just to make the press release Monday more interesting. I remember specifically Marvel personally denied the rumor that Ray Stevenson & Stuart Townsend was in Thor, and then released the news next day that they were.

Because they have to have someone cast by March 1st.

February ends on the 28, and it's the 26, that's 2 days. Add one for March 1st and what do you get? 3 days.

I just hope it's not the sad list of "candidates" from the other day. I mean, Chace Crawford. CHACE CRAWFORD!

I have faith that Marvel will pick the right person to be one of the biggest characters of CBM history. Be it Ackles, Hedlund, Porter, etc.

hahah, yes Lee, JH really! Someone that has actually mad a couple of movies in his career! I don't think he's really right for Cap, but he's a pretty good actor..tiny eyes though..I hate that!

I've asked this before but who the [frick] is Armie hammer? And whey doe she make me afraid to leave him with children?

All of these metrosexual clowns..especially Hedlund, who in fairness i have not seen act but if he were any more effeminate looking i'd [frick] him myself..suck as choices on the surface. Could they surprise us? Of course they could..but I really wish they had someone like Aron Eckhard in teh running.

@LEE777- I was thinking of the most idiotic choice for Cap, and Chris Klein sprung to mind. Made me laugh when I used the same pic they did for Ackles.

@Jazzman- I had actually thought this because he has been offered the role of Superman before. He's 6'3" and if Hollywood has shown us anything it's that guys can bulk up to look the part. Unfortunately he's gone on record stating that he doesn't want to commit to any long term projects. Too bad, the guy is a pretty good actor... Pearl Harbor not withstanding. :D

well.. we may have ourselves to blame also.. the marvel guys n all must have checked out the blogs n agreed that unless certain fan favs are taken into consideration it would go badly..

this could also mean Marvel wants to check out the guys with scheduling conflicts n other problems.. ackles and hedlund n so on..

though wolfman, rocketeer etc were good.. I'm still not sure about Joe Johnston.. Hmm..
or evrythin cud jus as well be BS!!!!!!

Thing is when these rumors get flying, the studios are forced to address them so it does serve a purpose to a degree
