Kevin Feige On Making Sure The Costume Was Realistic:
"That's a danger on every movie. Any of these characters can easily - easily, easily - look cheesy. If you pull the camera too wide and you hold for a beat too long, you've got a guy in a costume that looks silly. It's a challenge, whether it's an Asgardian or a super solidier or an iron suit, to make them look cool."
Kevin Feige On Getting The Movie Made, And The Tiltle Change In Certain Countries:
"Frankly, the world in 2001, 2002, '3, '4, '5, '6 was quite an exciting place, geo-politically speaking, and we did talk about it. What would happen if we made Captain America today? Would it be accepted? Now is as good a time as any, but we're not hiding from it."
"There might be a market where the movie is simply The First Avenger, but the research has come back that in countries where you'd expect, 'No, we don't want the Captain America title,' they want it. Not because it has America in it, but because Captain America is a superhero. That story of a scrawny kid getting teh chance to step up to the plate is universal, regardless of the country of his birth."
Joe Johnston On Steve Rogers And Chris Evans:
"He has a distinct and definite character arc, a somewhat mischievous side to him, and I cannot stress how happy I am with our choice of Chris Evans. He's adding levels to what's on the page that we frankly weren't sure we were going to get. He's redefining the character and making him interesting."
Joe Johnston On The First Time Steve Rogers Uses His New Powers:
He doesn't understand his strength and agility. When he goes after Kruger, he doesn't realise he can run as fast as he can and do the things he can. It's trial by fire."
Joe Johnston On How The Movie Is Linked To The Avengers:
Captain America has to exist as his own story and everyone recognises that. We're handing the baton to The Avengers, and there are references to the other films in the Marvel Universe, but we don't have to torture our story to get there. It exist on its own."
Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released on July 22, later this year!
