The production crew for the much anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger movie, have been hammering & sawing away, dedicated to transform Dale Street of Manchester's Northern Quarter into 1940s Brooklyn, New York. Now in addition to the images posted yesterday, the Captain America Filming in Manchester blog & locals of the area have provided more images with the false shopfronts in place. I know you guys are still anticipating set images of actual cast members, and soon you'll get them. But for now click theses images below for full resolution.

The production team have provided locals & the Captain America Filming in Manchester blog with a schedule of road closures, preparation and filming, which will largely taking place on Dale and Tariff Street. You can check out the schedule below.

Expect daily updates on the production progress, that soon vintage vehicles will be parked along the sides. And footage will make up an action sequence involving a dramatic car chase, special effects and a simulated car explosion.

And Joe Johnston's Captain America: First Avenger hits theaters July 22, next year!

I'm very confident in this film. I have a gut feeling it will be as great as Batman Begins or better. Not Dark Knight level but maybe.

I love what I've seen so far for this film, and really can't wait to see it, but I keep getting this feeling of dread that it might just be a bit too busy. I mean, they've got a lot of stuff to cram in anyway to make it halfway decent, but I can't help but worry.
Same goes for Avengers really.

Am I the only one who is mad that they arent filming the movie in, say, America? Seems to me like they are doing it in England not only for money reasons, but to also appeal to anti American people. Just a theory.

Awesome work DCMF! :) I cant believe just how authentic these buildings are already looking! It always amazes me the kind of work that these set designers are capable of...when they're finished it'll look like 1930's New York in 2010 Manchester. Simply Amazing.
