Production for Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger is reportedly in the final days of set work in Caerwent, South Wales. And courtesy of Marvel Movie News, who previously provided aspects of what'll be filmed at the location, has now revealed additional info, regarding the completed set work. The site also provided an aerial view of where, in Caerwent's deep open field, the production crew has set up.

"The buildings in area 1 will be fitted out as prisoner barracks, with holding cages on the ground floor and guard patrolling above. Area 2, which features railway lines, will double as the prisoner arrival area.

Over the whole site, work will involve removing current fencing and replacing it with camp razor wire, construction of guard watch towers, roof-mounted search lights, removal of vegetation, the leveling of a large area of land to be used for the battle sequence, as well as the placing of equipment ramps and temporary buildings. A huge undertaking, as you will agree!"

With this new info, it seems that official concept piece (pictured above) was done with the scenes that'll be filmed in here, in mind. What do you think?

And in case you missed it, filming at this location will be set in a camp for prisoners of war; POW camp. And will involve rooftops, searchlights, gunfire and ‘major pyro’, which apparently will include a large stunt set-piece. And filming dates in Caerwent includes nightshoots October 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th of this month, proceeding on the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in November.

And Captain America: The First Avenger is set for theaters July 22, 2011 in 3D!

@JoshW Haha my bad. Articles started piling in after Marvel's press release...And the original one was like six articles down. And it hadn't even been to the main yet.

My question is: when are they finished with principle photography? They've been filming for 3 months now.

One of the worst WWII movies I ever saw was "flyboys" with James Franco ... at least I think that's what it was called.

Anyway, although it sucked, it had one incredibly well-edited POW action sequence with major pyro. If this scene in Captain America TFA at all resembles that action sequence from flyboys, we will be in for a treat.

The one thing I'm not liking is all the HYDRA pulpy, sci-fi-ish stuff. I'd like it to be more like Private Ryan - gritty, realistic. Why does he need bigger villains than the Nazis?

@capwriter "Flyboys" was WW I not WW II. :) And it was terrible...!

Nice, maybe they'll recreate that cover from Reborn with Cap and the Invaders storming a concentration camp, POW would get better but it seems every WW2 film has to include at least one holocaust reference.

Just drove up t caerwent to see the set, pretty dark.
Lots of cranes around the old raf base, one with a huge suspended lighting rig.
Saw loads of dry ice being pumped. set looks awesome.
Will try to post some pics soon.
