SPOILER: CIVIL WAR Star Chris Evans Reacts To That Massive CAPTAIN AMERICA Comic Book Twist

It seems that startling revelation from the pages of Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 left the man who plays the character in the MCU as shocked as the rest of us. Check out Chris Evans' response...

Even if you haven't read All New, All Different Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 yet, chances are curiosity got the better of you in regards to the huge twist that's set social media ablaze with backlash over the last couple of days - but just in case, massive SPOILERS ahead.

So, turns out Steve Rogers is actually a Hydra agent. Not a clone, not a LMD, and he hasn't been brainwashed - apparently Captain America has been a sleeper agent right from the off. This revelation has understandably caused quite a stir, and although it is just a stunt that might well play out with some kind of semi-reasonable explanation, fans are not happy.

Someone else that seems quite shocked at the news is Chris Evans, who plays the Sentinel of Liberty in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Is there any possibility the MCU will follow suit and have Cap reveal himself to be a villain? It seems very unlikely given everything we've seen from the character up to this point - but then again, you could say the same for his comic book counterpart.

Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 is now available, and issue #2 hits stores June 29, 2016.

@SmellofDuty - Havint Been Here in a While since thi is a Anti DC Website with nothing but Troll Marvel FanBoys. Just wanted to come back and say... Ha! Ha! 🖕 Karma is a B**** . I love the same say DC Dropped one of the greatest comics of all time Rebirth, with Geoff Johns leading the way, Troll Marvel Fab Boys had to experience this move by marvl on Captain America. Like it wasint bad enough for u guys that u were recveing no press, then you got shitted on at the same time by your own company. For all the remarks you guys made bashing BvsS, well here you go, and its only the start. Ive said this once and ill say it again. DC hands down has the greatest Comics out there today and has been for a log time, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Scott Snyder and Greg, Jason Fabok, Ivan Reis, Gary Frank, good lord ill stop. Greatest game divison Batman Arkham, greatest animated movies, Flashpoint, Dark Knight returns. And now finally with putting the right people in charge, will have the greatest movies out there that will surpass anything marvel could ever dream of. Not taking anything away from Dark Knight, votes ahead of any marvel movie ever made in Imdb top 250 and Empire top 500. "I didnt want to do it, but they gave me every reason". Bye bitches, Mic Drop

Every time someone tries to change a popular comic book character without a reason, innocent people die. Every time.
