While fellow user spideyboy revealed a detailed description of the first teaser trailer for Marvel's The Avengers, and that it'll play out in the post-credits scene of next week's Captain America: The First Avenger movie, Moviehole has not only revealed their detailed description, but also what occurs in Captain America's present-day closing sequence. With a spoiler warning, read on!

First off without going into spoilers, it was pretty good. Not the best Marvel movie of the summer (That one goes to X-Men) but the action sequences were good and the acting was surprisingly good as well (Tommy Lee Jones stands out and Chris Evans shows he can carry a movie on his own). Now for
the information, the scene that was filmed in NY with Chris Evans and Samuel Jackson is not an after credits scene, it is shown as the last scene in the movie. It has Captain America waking up on a bed in a white in a room listening to a Mets baseball game and a girl that looks similar to Peggy Carter walks in to the room and he asks her “Where am I?” Realizing the baseball game he was listening to was from 1941 he gets out of the bed and two guards walk into the room and try to calm him down but he pushes them though a wall and breaks out of the room into a warehouse and runs out of the warehouse onto times square. A squad of special forces surround him then Nick Fury says “At ease solider.” He tells him they were trying to adjust him to his new area and he has been sleeping for 70 years and asks Captain America if he has some where else to be. Captain America says ” I am late for a date.” (That line will make more sense when you see the movie.”

Now for the after-credits it's not a scene, it's a trailer for Avengers. It does not show much and its more screen flashes then anything else. It starts with Chris Evans punching a bag in the gym and eventually punches the bag so hard it breaks. Nick Fury walks in and asks him “If he is having trouble sleeping and tells him he has a mission for him. The screen says Next Summer. It shows quick shots of the the Avengers in costume around (with the exception of the Hulk) and Nick Fury tells them he has a mission for them. It then shows all of the characters one by one and ends with Thor throwing his hammer. Then Says May 2012 on the screen. It does not show the Hulk at all in the trailer just a brief shot of Mark Ruffalo. As I said the trailer was short, showing quick shots of the characters but it looked like Loki was in one of the scenes shown, but overall I cannot wait for next summer. Until then go see Captain America!

In addition to what's mentioned above, regarding The Avengers trailer, SHH user ComicGeek-86 adds on:

"When Loki is shown, it looks as if he's being escorted by guards (Shield? Something else? Not sure) And also, Tony Stark passes by Thor, patting him on the bicep and saying "That's quite the swinging arm you got going there" (Or something to this effect. Can't remember the exact wordage)

UPDATE: SHH have posted their description of The Avengers trailer, revealing a few tidbits not mentioned above.

We see quick snippets of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, Loki being escorted in "handcuffs" by SHIELD. After that it's a long shot of Thor rocking a new outfit reminiscent of his Ultimate garb (sleeveless) in front of some roundtable of SHIELD. Then basically after that it's shots of action scenes - Cap in some sorta battlefield, Black Widow doing some flips and throwing darts, Hawkeye [and] a shot of Bruce Banner taking off his glasses.

A few months ago, CBM's very own WolvieCBM landed a scoop, claiming [Spoiler Alert] that "Thor fights Tony Stark (Iron Man) so he could get Loki back from S.H.I.E.L.D. possession." And with what's described in the trailer description above, it seems the scoop is somewhat confirmed. It also states that a huge fight scene where the Hulk and Thor are going at it in a city downtown. What do you think?

Captain America: The First Avenger focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull. Starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Stanley Tucci and Hugo Weaving, the film releases July 22, 2011.

and o is it not ironic many thought x men was going to suck and the worst out of the 4 but so far is the best of all the superhero movies coming out this summer. I remember the day everyone thought green lantern was going to pummel marvel or at least devour x men...silly rabbit tricks are for kids :D

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I agree with Grimlock20, there were a few critics who said Incredible Hulk was better than Iron Man, but the vast majority said Iron Man was better. Maybe this guy likes x-men more or he just has different taste. He might be the minority, like the few critics who thought Hulk was better. Anyway, this is turning out better than I thought.
Avengers trailer already? YES!!

I grew up with X-Men rather than Captain America and after watching it today, I have to say that it rivals First Class as CMB of the summer.

Other than forgetting to put "In my humble opinion" after the X-MEN comment ;), this was a more coherent and informative account than that jumbled thread on the same topic.

In one of the TV spots, Rogers tells Peggy she's late. So, with a little guessing, we can probably figure that one out.

The teaser sounds awesome. I'm like a crackhead foaming at the mouth to see the characters in the same room. Stark interacting with THOR is the pinch to let me know this is real and actually happening. There's a couple things I wish would have been different, but it's small compared to the big picture. Pun intended.

Saw First Class and thought it was okay...best of the summer, debatable in my eyes.

Tin, First Class isn't exactly crap. It's a bit overrated. Fassbender is awesome and the film stays entertaining for the most part. Best MARVEL film of the summer? I have to reserve that spot for the God of thunder at the moment.

Man there are some idiots on these forums with their minds ruled by their Johnson's!

X-Men First Class had the best performances in a CBM this year, it had collectively the best action sequences in a CBM this year and it had by far and away the best script out of any CBM so far this year too. Even the critics agree both professional and audience based. Rotten Tomatoes scores for all movies so far has X-Men:FC significantly ahead of every CBM this year.

X-Men:FC critics score 86%, audience score 89%
Thor critics score 77%, audience score 80%
Green Lantern critics score26%, audience score 54%

Michael Fassbenders portrayal of Magneto is by far and away the best performance of the year out of these films. Chris Hemsworths ultra charming Thor a very close 2nd and James McCavoy's suave Xavier easily 3rd. I wouldn't rate Ryan Reynolds's uninspired performance as himself once again, in the same blooming breath as the others.

X-Men:FC also had all the best action scenes; Magneto's bar fight in Argentina, the night assault on Sebastian Shaw's Yacht, the Helfire Club attack on the CIA base and the tense ensemble finale with Magneto vs Sebastian Shaw amidst the US-Russian missile face-off. Thor had one truly outstanding fight scene with the Frost Giants and the other fight scenes were adequate but never the level of his first battle. Green Lantern was lacking in every fight sequence that was either corny, cheesy or plain uninspired.

X-Men:FC also had the best cameo of the year with Wolverine's short and sweet answer to recruitment! It may not have had the biggest result at the box office, but X-Men certainly delivered the best collective entertainment this year and by far the finest technical attributes in terms of performances, plot and narrative.

First Class was a good movie, but not amazing or anything like I thought it would be. Some parts were pretty cheesy and had me cringing, such as the scene where Erik was a kid and he screamed "NEEEEEEIN" for about 8 seconds after his mother was murdered. That had me bury my face in my hand and shake my head in disbelief that Vaughn would allow something like that in the movie.

Another scene was when Emma called for Azazel by whistling, just seemed like that didn't belong in the movie at all.

The Darwin death scene had no emotional resonance and should have been skipped in my opinion. It was like they killed him off just to prove the point that Sebastian was ruthless, as if the Erik scene didn't do that already.

One of the last scenes I can think of off the top of my head is when Beast strolled into the hangar to reveal his blue form to his teammates for the first time, there was absolutely no suspense or horror there. I can't believe that Beast didn't have his famous agility, he just ran around and threw people in fight scenes. Hope they add that to him in the sequel.

And LOL if you think people had problems with First Class because they can't "admit how good the film really is". The movie was cool but it had a lot of faults, if you don't think so then that's clearly your opinion. A lot of people think differently.

ComicsCommando
ComicsCommando - 7/17/2011, 2:11 AM
Yeah, the "death by coin" scene was very anticlimactic. It had that intense music building up, just for that lame crap to happen. I did like how Magneto took Sebastian's corpse to show the other Mutants who was the Alpha-male, and the way he levitated down from the ship after that scene(although his posture was pretty bad, it made it obvious that it was wire work). You can tell by the way he was speaking that Erik was gone at that point, Magneto had fully taken over. And yeah, Thor was the better film.

TayDee: Eh, this topic's already been talked about to death on Spidey's earlier article. Hopefully, Cap is a great movie though.

pOoPEE - 7/17/2011, 2:12 AM
Cause many peps think its the best movie of the year, Xmen did have some great action but Fassbender carried that movie. Its was cram fulla jam and a hole lotta spam. I agree Thor did lack in the latter fights but common, the frost giant fight has to be the most epic fight ever in a CBM. Only other fight that comes close in the new TIH cause that end fight rocked and of course spidy on the train. The acting in Thor was out standing, good enough from Loki to win an Oscar in my view.

ComicsCommando - 7/17/2011, 2:14 AM
I also just didn't understand the "death by coin" scene, though. Did Charles shut off Sebastian's mutant abilities when he froze him like that? Or does Sebastian have to be fully conscious to control his power? Other wise, that coin should not have gone through.

I liked xmen first class, it was well made and well acted but it didn't make me feel good or make me want to see it again. It was like all the other xmen movies in that regard, and like the Hulk movies- well made, but not something i wanted to revisit.

GL, although panned universally, made me feel good as I left the theater, and I went and saw it again with a different group of friends.
Thor- also a feel good flick, also earned multiple visits by me. I hope Cap is more like thor and GL rather than Xmen.

ComicsCommando - 7/17/2011, 2:29 AM
Lol... I never even thought of that! Very reckless on Erik's end. At least Charles screaming "NOOOOOOO" would have been hilarious if it ended in a gigantic Nuclear explosion. Jeez, Vaughn sure has a fixation with people screaming "no" in First Class to get a forced dramatic reaction. But yeah, a lot of things just didn't add up in that movie. Hopefully they'll clean up these problems in the sequel.... Hopefully.

Why are we always comparing shizz-a-mi-nipples to X-Men: First Class? Or The Dark Knight? You can't COMPARE a film to another film for they're completely different, it's like having sex with your mum who is also your sister.

I fear for Wolverine in 2012, I really do. Before First Class, the movie was scrapped for that year. I feel that Fox wants to release it now just because everyone went crazy during his bar cameo. If it's anything like the first one, I'll be sorely disappointed.
