Video Of Captain America Taxi Stunt And New Information On Scenes Filming In Liverpool!

Liverpool local, Steve Frost, has sent in the following video showing us the yellow taxi being flipped over as part of the dramatic chase sequence! PLUS: New informantion about the filming and rumoured German U-Boat appearence...

Thanks to Liverpool resident, Steve Frost, we have the following video of the yellow taxi flipping over as a part of the dramatic sequence of events that begins on the set in Manchester where Steve Rogers chases after the vehicle on foot and then jumps on the roof as we saw in the pictures and videos posted yesterday showing Chris Evans' stunt double doing just that! Although the following footage was taken from a distance (understandably as security is tight around the entire area) you can clearly see the taxi flipping over in the impressive looking stunt!

And in case you're having problems with that video, here's the YouTube version of the footage:

The Liverpool Echo have posted a brief interview with Lynn Saunders, manager of the Liverpool Film Office, who let slip a few interesting pieces of information! Firstly, she confirmed what many of us have already worked out - that the scene being filmed in Liverpool follows directly on from what they're currently doing in Manchester. (as I exclusively revealed here on CBM a few days ago!)

"There are two units so when the main unit is in Manchester the second unit is here, and vice versa. This is continuation of the sequence being filmed in Manchester."

Saunders was then quizzed about the rumours that a German U-Boat is currently at the docks in Liverpool (in a sequence being which the site believe to be one of the main action set pieces and costing around $140m) to which she teased:

"A local diving company has been hired to see how deep the dock is. It’s very exciting."

We've already caught a glimpse of a HYDRA jet ski and the whole submarine rumour has been around for a while now. Clearly, this is where the sequence comes to a head, and if the speculation that this all takes place just moments after Steve takes the super soldier serum, it's certaintly an exciting and explosive beginning to his time as Captain America! Remember, if you have any photos or video from either this set in Liverpool or Manchester then send them to us here at CBM by clicking on the "Contact Me" link at the top left hand side of this page!

Captain America: The First Avenger will be released on July 22, 2011!

STAR: Yeah, it seems to work fine when you click on it from the main page of CBM but just says "Buffering" in this article...I've added the YouTube version as well now so thanks for posting that. (I've removed the EXCLUSIVE from the headline of the article though as he never mentioned that he'd posted it there as well!)

MrDCUniverse: For real? Well, that's weird! :P It's definitely not me though...or is it!? (no, it really isn't - I hate the [frick]ing X-Factor, lol!)

STAR/HAWKS: Nah, I don't think Evans fell over - he was probably just really into that scene and running as fast as he could which would explain why he cane to that sudden, and weird, stop! Either way, it's good stuff for the blooper reel! :D

TABOO: It really is that cold over here...the warmest it got in my part of the UK was about 10 degrees today! (maybe a little less in fact!) We won't get any decent sun/heat until next year now, lol!

I've been on the set!

I live in Liverpool and cycle to work in Bootle on Mondays and Tuesdays. My route takes me along the road and over the Bascule Bridge being used in the filming.

This morning the road was closed due to filming but I couldn't be bothered going round so I just nipped through the cones and nobody stopped me (going in the same direction the video is shot from).

There were dozens of people milling round in 1930s costumes and 1930s trucks and cars on the lead up to the bridge.

When I got through there were more people carrying clipboards and wearing headphones. There were loads of people there. There was a huge gazibo with the cameras next to it focused on a 1930s taxi in roughly the position that the taxi in the video would end up.

It was all battered, the door was in the road and so was the bonnet. At this point I had to get off my bike as I couldn't get through all the people and cars.

Nobody stopped me or said anything. They weren't filming but looked like they were setting up a scene. Can't honestly say I saw and characters (other than the 1930s dressed extras) but there was so much going on it was difficult to take it all in.

I had my phone but didn't take a picture. When I got to work I regretted that but to be honest I think if I'd have stopped and tried to take pictures someone who have stopped me.

I tried to do the same thing going home but as soon as I approached the road block 2 blokes stopped me straight away. I wonder if my ride through in the morning had led to some stern words for security as they were much more on the ball.
